Origami

I offered to make about 150 little origami boxes for my friends'
daughter's wedding! That's folding about 600 little pieces of
paper - oh my! Then I will do place names for the head table and
the parents' table but I don't have them done yet - pictures
later of those. Here's the boxes.

Aw, thanks! She's a very special girl. I am half way done - yay!
Thankfully I have until the end of July (wedding is Aug. 11),
though I hope to have them done within a couple of weeks so I
can get back to focusing on sewing.

Thank you MMHou and Miriam! I can't wait to get to the place
names - you'll like those too and they are so easy. I really had
wished the box top with the heart was easier but sadly it's too
hard. For me anyway. If I had had months more time, I would have
liked to do origami flowers for the tables. It's probably a good
thing that it's a short time frame - LOL! But I love this dear
girl so much that I would have done it just for her.

You could do all the boxes plain, and make just one with the
heart top, and give it to the newly-married lady after she
returns from honeymoon with perhaps a keepsake of the wedding/a
few photos of the day?
That way, she gets a special origami offering and you don't go
crackers with trying to create 150 heart tops.

Oh no, there's a couple of such tiny folds in there you would
need fairy sized fingers to do them well! Oh my word, when I
tried making that one, I spent SO much time on it. It still
wasn't quite right, though you can tell it's a heart. But no, I
am not going to try that one again! (Not really good for
keepsakes either, they turn out about 4 inches square and maybe
an inch and a half deep - good for what she's going to do with
them which is put candies in them for the guests. And too
crushable - it's just paper.)

Ah, gotcha - I've only seen pictures of them in books, so I
probably linked 'box' with 'sturdy' in my mind.[emoji4]

What kind of origami flowers do you do? Those are my favorites.
I posted a photo of origami hyacinths to the old site. I'll try
to find more photos and post them in a new thread.
