The very elderly friend of my late MIL gave me something I never
would have thought of considering the time of year we got
married. We got married in May and were moving south after our
honeymoon so the weather for a long time was in the 80s-90s.
MIL's friend gave me a box of handmade beaded Christmas
ornaments with a note that said "for your first Christmas tree
as a married couple". It's now 30 years later and those
ornaments still hang on our Christmas tree.

That is a lovely idea for a gift.

When I got married, the oldest lady (100YO) in our church gave
us a single white flat sheet. That sheet served as table cloth,
Christmas tree skirt, covering for bed, floor, car seat, and
couch, etc. etc. I got a lot of use out of that single flat
sheet. Unfortunately, I left it at the house with the EXH when
I moved out.
As for the lady, she lived to be 105 and kept going to church
right until the end.
