After working on my origami boxes for a couple hours, I sat down
and did a kit I got in my surprise gift at quilt group last
week. It was called "10 minute table topper." They lie - it took
about an hour, and I didn't even have to cut the fabric! But it
was really easy, and I will definitely do more, and maybe even
teach some ladies at church how to do this. And maybe my quilt
group.

If I used glue, that still would be longer than 10 minutes!
[Not to mention the half-hour getting my fingers
ungunged![emoji12]]

And the iron...

:o Sometimes I miss the truly wonderful iron that was in my
flat when I bought it: steel, no steam, no spray, but so easy to
clean with a scouring pad/cream. I've lost count of the number
of times I've gunked up the iron plate despite following the
care instructions exactly. ::)

I have been SO lucky the last couple of times I ironed the
fusible wrong side up! I was shocked and stunned the first time
I did it, but had the presence of mind to grab the dishcloth and
soak it right away, and kept pressing on that wet cloth until
the iron came clean. I was so amazed how well it worked, though
it did take some time and the ironing board got kinda wet! I
don't know what possessed me to do that, but it worked. It
worked the second time too...[emoji12]

See, I thought I was just slow! I did a ton of these and never
was able to do it in under 40 minutes! Also not timing the
cutting part. Thank you for telling me I'm not alone! And yours
looks wonderful!

Spent the day trying to find two fabrics, elastic, and a bib
pattern. Finally found the fabric, after having given up, while
trying to find the elastic. Gave up on finding the pattern and
made a new one. I have a slightly cleaned up fabric stash and
four bibs are cut out and ready to be sewn.
Yesterday, we had lunch at a friend's house and I finished the
lounging pants I had made for her, using her machine to finish
the waistband and hem the pants.. She was so tickled with them!
Hurrah!

That's lovely - she got to watch some of the magic, too (if she
wanted).

Thank you, and i am glad to hear that I am not incompetent!
Really, I suppose it could be done in 10 minutes - if you didn't
press anything!

That is lovely, Mel - and you look lovely, too! :-*
The pics on Ravelry show that it's more complicated even than it
looks from that pic.
