Well, I have actually been working on a few things, and I keep
meaning to post pictures, and never get around to it. Now, my
phone is charging, so... maybe later!
Still working on the origami boxes.
Currently am cutting up denim bits that have been sitting in a
box for nearly a year. They are what's left over after I cut out
all my circles for my denim quilts (they're aging in their boxes
too!) I am cutting them all into as big a piece I can get out of
them, then I will sew all the same size pieces together end to
end so I have strips of varying widths (from 2 to 6 inches) then
I will sew the strips together rag fashion - seams to the top -
so I can clip them and they will hopefully fray nicely. Then I
will back it with flannel. Or I might cut strips of flannel and
sew the flannel in at the same time, because flannel frays
nicely too. I should probably do a little test block and see how
well it works.
Also am working on binding two quilts, and had finished binding
a quilt for a group that we give quilts to people who "graduate"
their program (helping people overcome their problems with
PTSD).
My Hunter's Star quilts are on hold because they are not "due"
for anything - which reminds me I have to put pink binding on a
baby quilt, then make a whole other boy baby quilt for brothers
whose wives are expecting within a couple of weeks of one
another.
Oh, then there's the Mountie memorial quilt for a Mountie's
family. It's...green. Very green. He was of Irish background,
and the person who bought the fabric for once really didn't do a
great job of choosing! I have thrown in three pieces of my own,
but it's still not that inspiring. I think I need one more, then
I have to arrange the cross-stitched blocks before I can decide
exactly what I am going to do.
Ugh... I should be sewing, not typing!

LOL! I agree! I think part of my problem is that nothing is high
priority, so I have a hard time deciding what to do, and get too
much going, then some things slide, you know. I do have a
deadline for a couple of the quilts, but they're not immediate,
so they're kind of sliding too. But now this denim is all over
the table! I will finish that this afternoon if it kills me,
then I can put it in a smaller box and label it and it will fit
in the cupboard - out of sight for a while longer. I do like
having things cut and ready to sew, for when I am in a mood
where I don't know what I want to work on. Or easy to tote off
to quilt group - it might become one of those, then I only have
to deal with it once a week when I go there and the rest of the
time it can just rest quietly in a corner.

I work so much better with a deadline - for a start, it makes me
work (rather than tidying the kitchen, reading etiquette
dilemmas, faffing around), and once the adrenaline kicks in I
find it so easy to focus.
Nothing pressing? 'Butterfly Mind mode selected.' ::)

hahaha! I love that! I will have to remember that. My quilting
partner in crime will like it too. She's worse than I am.

I work better with a deadline, too. Unfortunately I often end up
working better on things that are not the deadline. 😅

Hi all!
I've just finished three huge granny square blankets. I work
mainly from donated wool/yarn/acrylic/whatever and then donate
the blankets to a couple of places around town.
Now I am ready for a completely different crochet project - a
striped scrap blanket.
In sewing I found an amazing amount of fabric at a charity shop
that I did not need but absolutely had to have. On my list is a
BBQ cover, car cover, sewing machine cover and circle skirt.

Are you really making a car cover out of fabric? I'm a bit
boggled by the idea, as I'm only used to seeing canvas* or
tarpaulins. And a BBQ? Won't the fabric get all yukky really
quickly?
* My husband has a canvas bike cover; it is a nightmare when it
gets wet... And, being a Brit, I live on a soggy little island,
so it gets wet a lot of the time. I'm so grateful we now have a
garage (of sorts).
Sorry, I'm not trying to attack you - I hope my post doesn't
come across that way - I'm desperately attempting to make the
idea work in my brain. :-[ :-[ :-[
Sewing machine cover: I have no problems imagining that looking
pretty. And circle skirt? Lovely!
Do you have any pics of the blankets that we could admire? :D
