a bunch of compliments. ;D

That is lovely, Mel - and you look lovely, too! :-*
The pics on Ravelry show that it's more complicated even than it
looks from that pic.

Thank you both! XD
I had a ton of fun knitting it - the designer does a lot of
stuff in mosaic lace, but hardly anyone else is working with
that yet, so when she decided to do her first ever mystery
knitalong she thought it would be best to come up with a pattern
that would teach you how to do simple stuff first and then more
complicated things later on. So the first bit of mosaic lace is
just vertical stripes, then the second bit is chevrons, the
third bit is vertical stripes and chevrons, and the final bit
has stacked chevrons making pyramids and diamonds and curves. At
least one person doing the KAL had zero experience with lace,
chart reading, colourwork etc., and still managed to make a
beautiful shawl (with help and encouragement from the rest of us
in the chat threads!).

Spent the day trying to find two fabrics, elastic, and a bib
pattern. Finally found the fabric, after having given up, while
trying to find the elastic. Gave up on finding the pattern and
made a new one. I have a slightly cleaned up fabric stash and
four bibs are cut out and ready to be sewn.
Yesterday, we had lunch at a friend's house and I finished the
lounging pants I had made for her, using her machine to finish
the waistband and hem the pants.. She was so tickled with them!
Hurrah!
That's lovely - she got to watch some of the magic, too (if she
wanted).
Oh, yes, she was right there. It is the only way that I would
use her machine! Learning curve is really high on using a
totally different machine!

Today, I made 4 bibs. I made two that are birthday fabric on one
side and balloons on the other side. The other two bibs are
"Fourth of July" designs: confetti on one side and fireworks on
the other side. I used green bias tape for the ties, as it was
on all four fabrics. I'm giving one birthday and one "Fourth of
July" bib to our DGS on Saturday for his birthday. I'll put the
other set away for gift giving in the future.
I also worked on more infinity scarves. Tomorrow, I'll be making
DGS's cake for his first birthday. When I take breaks, I'll work
on finishing hair scrunchies for DD's Sister-In-Law. If I don't
finish them by Saturday, I'll have to mail them or wait until DD
goes to see them.

I love the design of that shawl, Mel. That's a colour scheme
that I can't wear but it looks great on you.

Today I finished two laundry bags! One is for our DGD and the
other is for her roommate. I've started two more, just in case
they are needed. DGD would probably love to gift a couple of her
friends. I did the measuring and cutting last night, so today
was serging the edges of all four bags and then I did the sewing
on two of them. Later today I may try to finish another one.
Modified to add: I finished up two more! And I want to brag,
because I used up fabric I already had! Mind you, it did not
make a dent in my stash! Still the only thing I had to buy was
the cord to use in the casings. (Happy dance!)

I just finished a "Jughead Jones" hat for OGD. I actually made
2 since the first one turned out HUGE and I had to adjust the
number of rows and the needle size.
Now, I'm on the hunt for yarn since YGD has requested "a blanket
with a hood.....in the middle."

For so many years, I have sewn projects with a deadline. This
must be done by Halloween, that has to be done by Christmas. And
I have mostly been doing there just as they are due.
This year, I'm trying to do my projects early. So, today I
started the quilt that will go off to college with my DGD. I got
the first 7 (out of 16) rows sewn. In the next few days, I will
finish sewing the rows and start sewing the rows together. I am
really enjoying the process of sewing this year.
And, strangely, not as many things seem to be going wrong! Hmmm,
imagine that! One of my goals for this year was to try to sew
every week. Except for one week, I have actually done that and a
lot of weeks, I have sewn 5 or 6 days out of the week.
