I started knitting a pullover, knitted in the round, so no
seams. It's a very complex project for the level of knitting I
can do, but one row at a time :).
I also learned to do mittens, so I'm making a series of
fingerless mittens and I've had quite a few nice reactions to
them. I'll probably get some orders in the fall.
When I have the 4am brain in hamster-on-a-wheel mode, I
fantasise about a seamfree pullover... <Insert drooling smiley>
We're happy to see progress pics, as well as those of the
finished item, you know! </heavy hint>
Are you starting at the top, or the bottom, coralreef?
Everytime I think of the logistics [4am thinking, remember?], I
imagine it could get like wrestling an octopus, having a cushion
tucked under one arm, whilst armed with only two blunt
pencils... ;) ;D
For the pullover, I'm starting from the bottom. It' a free
pattern I got from the Bernat :
HTML http://www.yarnspirations.com/ca-en/bernat-fair-isle-yoke-pullover/BRK0129-003248M.html?cgid=knit-patterns-women-sweaters-cardigans#sz=12&start=104<br
/>
If all goes well, I should have it done by Christmans, but in
green shades instead of blue.
Edit: putting the quote in the right order.

I made a linen dress for my mother & another for my sister in
March - sister's didn't fit, so Mom got two dresses. A necklace
that clips to a thread loop goes with both dresses (I have beads
left over as I only needed to make one necklace). Mom is very
happy.
I feel like I kind of *owe* my sister a dress that fits her - so
I have plans for a dress for her, possibly a dress for myself,
another for DD (who was here last weekend & looked at some
fabrics & color swatches), a weighted blanket for one DGS
(medically suggested but his dad has mentioned that they have
enough of the regular kind - as the linen closet is full), some
t-shirts to embroider for both DGSs, possibly a few other
embroidery projects (I fell in love with a bunch of designs that
were "on sale" and now I need to use some of them), and a few
things for VorSon or VorGuy (husband & retired military - so the
name fits him at least as well as VorFemme fits me).
What I need to do is find a lightweight sewing machine for
travel or figure out how to pack my vintage Singer to take with
me, as traveling in retirement has become VorGuy's new hobby -
or even an avocation - as we're traveling probably one week a
month, minimum. Some months, we spend more time away from my
sewing room and I miss sewing...I also miss "deadlines" on when
to get things done by birthdays or Christmas.
Anyone know of a good website with instructions for a weighted
quilt/duvet/comforter that could be wrapped in a washable shell
for use by a relatively young child that we've recently
nicknamed "the Giant" as he is so far ahead of the average size
for his age? I might need to figure out a way to zip additional
panels onto this thing as he keeps growing...so he doesnt'
outgrow it.
Weighted blanket pattern ideas & travel sewing machines (a
Singer Featherweight that makes only a straight stitch won't
meet my needs - other ideas on lightweight machines welcome) are
actively welcomed.

I spent the last three days trying to untangle three different
skeins of yarn. I will try to see if I can get it finished
tomorrow, but who knows. And then after that, I can continue to
crochet a bag for my walker. Unfortunately my MS does cause
delays, because my right hand does not tend to work well and so
the untangling goes slowly.
(edited because the disease is ‘ms’, not ‘ns’)

This morning I was finally able to use some soap I've been
curing for six weeks. So far, I really like this batch; I made
it with beer, which yields creamy bubbles and gives it a lovely,
yeasty smell (I was concerned that beer soap would smell like a
frat house floor, but it does not!).

I tried soap making. I did make a few nice bars, but mostly, it
didn't work for me! I am not sure I would like a yeasty scent,
but then I am not a beer drinker!

Soap can definitely be moody. I've made several hundred batches,
and I still have some that do bad, bad things in the pot or in
the mold. I have yet to make coffee soap successfully. Perhaps
the universe is telling me to stick with beer?

Ooooh, soapmaking. I am starting to get low from my last batch,
and will need to check supplies to make sure I have enough, and
make an appt with helper to come assist me. And this time, I
want to remember to put oatmeal in a few, to help with allergic
reactions.

That's going to be a beauty; thanks for posting the link. Do
the colours match the fingerless mitten in your pic? They look
a fun project! I remember we 'all' knit fingerless gloves at
school [biology teacher gave us the pattern for her pair that
had a reindeer on them], so occasionally I wonder about knitting
gloves [I have a weirdly small little finger on one hand
(familial congenital anomaly), so that would be a way to have a
glove that fits].
I should get off my tushie and get those needles out!

whilst recovering from the knee op, so hopefully there are some
pics coming our way. :D
