Spot is gone. He died peacefully in our arms.

Thanks, everyone.
Dash, at least, seems absolutely fine. She doesn't seem to have
noticed Spot's absence at all.
I, on the other hand, keep expecting him to jump up on my desk
or try to steal my food before realising he's never going to do
that again.

It's been that way for me, too. The other cats just go about
their business as usual. Maybe they know long before we do and
prepare? I don't know. I'm the one left looking around for my
baby. It gets better with time, but with some of my kitties, I
still look every once in a while. Then I smile when I remember
how wonderful they were. Lots of hugs. I know it's hard.
