I'm making a stand for Thanksgiving!

My Thanksgiving themed office door is surrounded by Christmas
themed doors. I refuse to skip over the day of thanks. ;)
       Am I the only one?

Shifty looking at a Skittles tree dispenser on my desk. My
       excuse is......candy!!
eta: I actually like Thanksgiving more than Christmas.

As soon as the lights are turned off for Halloween I remove
Jack-O-Lantern decorations in the house to be replaced with
turkeys and general pumpkins. There never seems to be enough
       time for Thanksgiving.

Going from Halloween to Thanksgiving is easy for us. We just
bring the sorting hat out of the hall and remove the tissue
ghosts from the wreath. The wreath is made of grape vines and
we decorated it with autumn leaves.
       Voila! Thanksgiving decoration.

I never put Christmas decorations up until after Thanksgiving.
It just doesn't feel right to put them up earlier and then you
get sick of looking at them.

My family loves Thanksgiving too! No matter whether we have
guests or just members who live in the house we always have made
a big deal of having a traditional feast and a relaxing day and
evening at home. Even when my husband was alive and there was
just the two of us and we would go to a fancy hotel for the
Thanksgiving dinner we thoroughly enjoyed the crowd and the
decorations. I've never decorated for Christmas until after
Thanksgiving. And when Jan first arrives I'm more than ready to
       put the Christmas decor away.

I put up my Thanksgiving decorations right after Halloween, and
I don't put up anything for Christmas until December 1st. One
       holiday at a time, please!

Our Thanksgiving is in October so those decorations morph into
Halloween decorations. Then nothing Christmas, for me, until
the first Sunday in Advent, which is usually the last Sunday in
November. It annoys the crap out of me when people start
putting up their Christmas decorations before Remembrance Day on
November 11th. Let's honour our veterans before we go full out
       on Christmas, please!

Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas. I've started my shopping.
I've made my lists. I've checked them twice. I'm just not ready
for all of the sparkle yet. It just feels like the year is over
       once Christmas starts.
