I'd throw the letters in a drawer unopened, in case you need
them for a future restraining order, but otherwise would not
read them. She's clearly not well.

"Time to read "The Gift of Fear" by Gavin DeBecker.
The next time you encounter her (mail, in person) tell her: "I
don't want to be your friend. Do not talk to me, do not hug me,
do not write me letters. Do you understand?"
If she is autistic you have to be very straightfoward. No name
       calling, no cursing, but firm.
Then do not respond to any further letters. If she approaches
you, walk away. If she somehow hugs you, scream as if a stranger
attacks you. If necessary, talk to the police about stalking.

This honestly doesn't sound like autism to me, more like
something else going on. But that doesn't make it any less
disturbing. You said she isn't dangerous, but you never know
what somebody will do. Stay safe, and document your and
Consort's interactions with her, just in case you need to
       produce a record later on.

Sounds like this woman wants your man and wants your friendship
as a way to make it seem like there is nothing going on--because
if you accept her then everything is normal, right?

It sounds like she may have some sort of obsession with him.
"Consort" needs to stop doing projects with this woman. If he
can, he shouldn't have any contact with her at all. Any
attention or interaction feeds the obsession. You would be
surprised how little contact is needed to feed it.
It might be a good idea to find another group to do projects
       with that doesn't involve her.
