       Bullet Journaling
       By: Nikko-chan Date: May 21, 2018, 9:08 pm

Does anyone else do this? My friend does it and i am thinking
about getting into it. I just wondered if any Brimstoners did
this and had any tips and tricks to share.
Bullet journaling as i have just found out, is a very minimalist
way of keeping a journal, using bullet points to make lists of
things to do, different symbols for things such as "need to
investigate that more" or "this is a very important bullet
point", and is more conscise than the traditional journal.
       From the website:
The Bullet Journal is a customizable and forgiving organization
system. It can be your to-do list, sketchbook, notebook, and
diary, but most likely, it will be all of the above.
So... any ehellions currently Bullet Journal or want to join me
       in starting?

I started bullet journaling this year, mainly because I couldn't
find a planner that met my needs and wasn't horribly expensive.
Mine is simple; I set up monthly calendars at the start of the
journal, and then I do weekly calendars over two pages. They
aren't the prettty pretty pages you see on Pinterest, but they
work for me and that's the main thing.

I tried it, but didn't like what it for what I really needed it
for (work) - I didn't like things being in no order even with an
index. My solution was to buy a notebook with removable pages,
so I can rearrange them or add/remove pages as needed and then I
use stick on labels for sections. I do absolutely think bullet
journaling can work wonderfully for personal stuff, though you
have to be committed to keeping it with you at all times. I
have a journal that I use in that style, but only for my actual
lists, like magazine subscriptions or gift ideas. Not a true
bullet journal, but it works for me.
When I was trying it out, I definitely got intimidated by people
who go all out with the washi tape, designs, etc. I found a
group on facebook that helped - I think it was Minimalist Bullet
Journaling or something like that. You can definitely find
groups for either style that interests you, but most recommend
starting basic until you get your own style. I really did enjoy
seeing layout suggestions, though. Good luck with it!

I may or may not have bought pens and washi tape... *slides bag
out of sight with foot* You know, may or may not have...

By all means, use it! That's the great thing about bullet
journaling - you make it yours. I do confess, I even bought a
stencil, a stamp pad, and some stamps since that's about as
creative as I get. And since I'm not creative, it was really
difficult/stressful to try to duplicate some of those layouts,
but then I remembered that I didn't have to! Though if I were
creative, I would've loved that part - experimenting with
different layouts, finding out what works, what I liked, etc.

I have a journal I keep in my purse. I don't draw pictures or
use it for a calendar. I like the aspect of the index at the
front with the page numbers so I can just jot down something or
start a list on a random page and keep track of it in the index.

for those who want to be able to adjust on the fly, there is
something called disc binding, where you can punch holes in any
sized paper, and then can move pages as needed!
