       New Update
       I did make the boeuf bourgignon and it was served last night.
       While I was setting it up to marinate on Wednesday afternoon it
       occurred to me that I had not made it since that disastrous
       office potluck a dozen years ago, so I was a little
       apprehensive.  And -- thanks to Covid -- inflation drove up the
       prices of key ingredients so that it cost me almost as much to
       make a third of the quantity.
       It smelled exactly right when I put it back cooked into the
       fridge on Thursday afternoon.
       It was a hit, so I slept well last night.
