I don't know if this is regional or not, but it's something I
remember older folks saying: "dollars to doughnuts" it was used
to express that the chance of something was very high, like
"I'll bet dollars to doughnuts the store is out of toilet
       paper".
From my understanding the phrase originated when doughnuts were
far less expensive, so a dollar was much more valuable than a
doughnut. I suppose now we should say "I'll bet doughnuts to
       dollars..." instead!

       ^^
I remember dollars to donuts. I don't think I ever thought about
       the origin or meaning!

My grandmother had a saying for an item of clothing, such as a
black sweater or skirt, that attracted and showed every little
bit of fluff: this sweater picks up everything but money and
men. I always thought that was rather daring for a lady born in
       1908.

My Aunt always said that! So funny to hear it again!

My mother had many colourful sayings:
Sticks like sh!t to a blanket
If clues were shoes, you'd go barefoot
Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a handful of
       pea(nut)s
The only way to see [big city] is in your rearview mirror
Flatter than pee on a plate
It's better than a kick in the @ss with a frozen gum rubber
Go out to the garden and eat worms; two woolly ones and 1 juicy
       one
       Getting up at sparrow fart
       Fart in a mitt
       All muxed ip
       Bass ackwards
As handy as a pocket in a shirt
Up and down like a toilet seat
       A good, old-fashioned chin wag
Don't just sit there with your thumb in your bum and your mind
       in neutral
I'm so hungry, I could eat the east end of a skunk going west
After my Mom passed, I put together a cookbook of her favourite
recipes and put all of these sayings at the bottom of pages,
where there was room. I asked a friend of hers if she'd cooked
anything out of her copy. She told me she hadn't but she'd read
       it three times.
Edited to add: Mom grew up in the Ottawa valley.

I would have loved to have known your mom! She sounds like a
       real gem.

Thank you; she was. I remembered another saying after typing
this that I can't remember now, of course. I'll come back and
post it when I remember again.

Bass ackwards was common in our house.
Someone has their tail over the dashboard. - Reference to horse
& buggy days, if the horse got it's tail over the dash of the
       buggy, unhappiness was the result.
Couldn't stop a pig in a passage. - referring to someone who was
       very bowlegged
       I may remember more later...
