Well, I just checked my calendar and saw that Labor Day is
celebrated today in Australia. So, I just wanted to wish our
Australian members
Happy Labor Day!

I don't live in Australia. And frankly, I'm not a big holiday
person anyway. That doesn't stop me from wishing a happy holiday
to others.

I thought most western countries celebrated Labour Day. We do in
New Zealand too.

It’s celebrated on different days around the country. In
Victoria we celebrate it in March. Our state was the first to
introduce the 8 hour day. But thank you anyway.

Here in the US it's celebrated on the first Monday in September.

As terrible as this sounds, I just enjoyed the day off work. I
didn't really think about the fact that it was "Labour Day" per
se. (Although I am grateful for the 8 hour working day!).
Also, my state is currently in lockdown, so no one could really
do much. Just got in my one mandated hour of exercise in by
taking a nice walk with my partner by the waterfront!

Now that piqued my curiosity. I can certainly understand "the
state" suggesting or recommending exercise during a lockdown.
Mandating it is something else entirely.
