Hostess and Little Debbie products. Too sweet and chemical
tasting now.

Sometimes it's not that our taste buds have changed--while
Little Debbie may be using the same recipe, the ingredients are
not the same. Wheat is not the same as it was decades ago and
perhaps chemicals are different too. Or maybe Little Debbie
changed her recipe just enough .
Piece of ham, piece of rare roast beef. I had some of the
ham with my egg this morning, trying to think of what to do with
the beef. I can't remember the last time I ate any. Maybe shred
it and put it in the freezer for a future stir fry?
Personally, if a good flavourful piece of beef is roasted rare,
I think it's a shame to reheat it in any way; I'd just eat it
sliced cold with creamed horseradish and a salad. Though I can
appreciate that if you have got out of the way of eating meat
that might just be too full-on carnivore for you. If you so, do
you have any friends or relations who love rare beef?

My husband is our daily cook, and he tries to actively make
leftovers. I've been trying to get him to realize that steak
doesn't reheat well, and that he should only cook enough for us
each to have one serving. And cook the remainder on another
night (it doesn't take that long!!).

There's probably a lot you can do with that leftover beef.
Eating it cold may be one option. Of course you have to make
extra sure all the fat's trimmed off, because cold beef is fine,
but the fat...not so much.
But, you can also shred it or cut it into small pieces and make
a chili or goulash or something like that. With a little
creativity it can become part of the filling for a meat pastie
or enchilada casserole.
Just reheating the steak, though... probably not.

We have a bit of roast left over. I put it on bread (telera
roll) with provolone and sliced red onions and broiled open
faced. Came out great and didn’t end up overcooked.

If there were leftover roast beef, I used to slice it thin and
put it in the crockpot with the leftover grave. At the end of
the day, I'd serve it over noodles. Now, we mostly make
sandwiches with it.
I was never a huge fan of canned vegetables but really dislike
them now. I don't even keep them in the house.
