Once after a long day at work, I tried to use my garage door
opener to get out of the office parking garage.

Sometimes I forget I'm watching a tv show on Hulu, and I wonder
why my remote isn't changing the cable channel.
I recently tried to dial a number using the calculator app on my
phone.
I actually waited for a stop sign to change this weekend.

Thank you for the giggle. I smile every time I think about
this. I haven't done this yet, but I could definitely see
myself doing something like this.

Standing on a chair is fine.....unless when it's a rolling
chair.

Yep - for some reason every chair in my apt. is either rolling
or has a rush seat. Not good for standing on.

About 25 years ago I started a job where SAFETY is a huge thing.
I had come from a company where safety controls were enforced at
field sights but it was never discussed in the office. On my
second day at work, the Director of Safety walked by my new
office to see me standing on a rolling desk chair and using a
pair of scissors to hammer in a nail so I could hang a picture.
I got scuttled off to safety training the next morning. The
office had over a million manhours of not reportable accidents
and he was determined I wasn't going to break that streak.

Anyone who works in library stacks knows the kind of stool I
mean. You can sit on it and scoot yourself around the floor to
facilitate shelviing near the bottom of the stacks. However,
when you need to reach higher, standing on the stool will lock
the wheels and your footing will be secure. There were ladders
in the library that worked the same way.
We had a volunteer who never quite got that. She could not
understand that a ladder or stool could be easy to push around
but perfectly safe to stand on when the weight of an average
adult was put on it. The Deity knows she had plenty of weight
to hold it in place.

On the radio this morning the DJs were asking people to call in
to talk about bone headed things their spouses did without
telling them.
One man called and said his wife never told him she had gotten
into the habit of letting their daughter, age 9, use her debit
card at the ATM because she didn't feel like getting out of the
car. Gave the child the PIN. I guess she never realized that a
year later the same child would realize she could use the debit
card to pay for a lot of things she wanted. Husband found out
about it when there was a $1600 charge to an online gaming site
to purchase "booster packs". Apparently, this child has a
really good memory for numbers and had memorized the debit card
number.
In this vein...my nephew racked up some kid pay per
view movies on Disney plus. I asked my sister why she hadn't put
a password on it. Well, she had! My 7 year old nephew told her
she should have picked a better password. 🤣 I told her
the same thing... She had used them last four of her SS number
and since she'd been working on her taxes, he figured it out out
after her heard her tell the tax lady.

Don't think that you're multi-talented and can do several things
at once . . .
. . . like sitting down on the couch while you're holding cup of
hot soup in one hand and reaching for the remote with your other
hand, all at the same time.
Then being more concerned about the mess on your couch than you
are about the burn on your arm. ::)

I have never heard those slicers called that!
I couldn't figure out why one would need a finger guard to play
a mandolin!
