I wear glasses. I can't tell you the number of times I've been
frantically searching for my glasses and they've either been
actually on my face or on top of my head. 🤷🤣

This didn't happen to me, but I remember a friend searching in
the car for her phone. It was dark, so she was using the
flashlight on the phone to do her search. One of her kids
pointed out that it was in her hand.

Whilst on crutches, I got in the habit of carrying my phone in
my bra when going room to room. But would occasionally forget.
Even had Mr. S call it so I could find it. And my boobs started
to ring.

I wear contacts, & am now at the age where I also need reading
glasses. During WFH, I have had to move to more powerful lenses
(my laptop screen is dinky compared to my lovely dual monitors
at the office). But I also was getting eyestrain from staring at
a screen all day. So I started to take out my contacts when the
work day is done (I can't see the screen as well with my
glasses). So many times I've gotten up from reading & removed my
glasses, then realized the world was now a big blue!

Oh, I have lots of these!!
I once found the parchment paper roll in the fridge...I remember
putting it there, and wondering why it didn't fit!
Did the same with the coffee pot in the cupboard at my dad's
house (but I was laughing so hard I couldn't tell anyone why I
was laughing).

Whenever I can't find my sunglasses the first thing I do is put
my hand on my head!

This probably says a lot bad about me, but it was fun at the
time:
My boss came tearing out of his office, frantically tearing the
building to find his glasses. The rest of the staff and I
watched him panic for fifteen minutes before he tore back into
his office and began throwing stuff into the garbage as she
sought a space where his glasses might be. The teen librarian
and I stood shoulder to shoulder watching the proceedings. Then
she turned to me and asked "When are you going to tell him the
glasses are n his head?" "When it stops being funny," I
replied.

My Oma (grandmother) did that once. Oh, thank you for the
memory! ;D
Oma was like a little bird flitting around the house. Looking
here, looking there for something. Ten year old me asked her if
I could hep her find whatever she was looking for. Oma said "No,
thank you, I'm fine." while she continued to flit here and
there.
I finally insisted "Oma, What are you looking for? I can help!"
I knew that she was aggravated when said "I'm looking for my
glasses!"
I said "Um, Oma? I think they are on top of your head."
Oma put her hand to her head, found her glasses, and started
laughing. She hugged me and we both laughed ourselves silly.
I haven't thought about that memory in years. It was such a joy
to relive that time with my Oma hugging me and us laughing
together.
