That meme and others like it came out a few years ago to address
a specific type of April Fool's joke that was going around.
The joke was telling someone (life partner, parents, siblings,
friends) you were pregnant so you could record their reaction
and post it. Or, one would lead up to a big revelation with
someone who may be hoping for a pregnancy announcement only to
reveal they got a new couch or something.
I think either of those would be just plain mean! :-\

I concur with what everyone else is saying.
I've seen the meme and the joke played out and it's pretty
tired. But it's not a malicious dig at people who miscarry or
struggle with infertility.
I've had miscarriages. They are painful and for a while it hurt
to see pregnant women. But that's life and it was my own thing
to deal with.
Seriously...we need to expect people to buck up a bit. People
are being trained to be upset and offended easily.
This isn't to minimize anyone's hurt - everyone has things that
trigger them or bother them. I used to pretend things didn't
bother me when they did and when I started admitting it to
myself I handled it a lot better.
The feelings are real. But we do have to start owning that it's
ours and not everyone else's burden.

I guess that's where I don't understand the meme. If my life
partner and I were trying to conceive a child and I made a fake
announcement to them, that's terrible. But if you know that your
intended audience would laugh, then I don't see the rudeness.
And I really struggle how that is rude to other people trying
conceive who might see the video... but that's why I'm posting
the question.
I think the above was just describing the types of common
pregnancy jokes. For example, my niece had been married 2 years
and everyone knew she had been getting some pressure from her
mom and dad about when they'd start having kids and she did a FB
reveal post about adopting a new dog... I don't think it was
April Fools day, just a funny post.
People who are struggling with infertility may have seen that
post as insensitive to their struggles. They feel that because
people do have infertility issues that no one should ever joke
about pregnancy. They feel that pregnancy should be one of the
"sacred cow" topics that should never be joked about.
I don't personally agree with them. Sure, joke directly aimed
at them is wrong. But expecting people to never make jokes about
pregnancy is over the top to me.

All jokes have a bit of meanness to them. But how mean depends
on how long you keep the joke running or how much of a sensitive
topic it is to the target audience. A friend once told her
husband he had waited too damn late to schedule his vasectomy
and for a heart stopping few seconds he thought they had a 4th
child on the way. But she finished by telling him she had gone
ahead and scheduled the appointment for him. He laughed with
relief and went on to tell the story for another 10 years. Now
if her husband had really been hoping for a 4th child, then the
joke would have been really mean.

In situations where you might feel like "Geez, why can't I say

ask yourself is "Why do I feel I absolutely have to say it ?
What does it take away from my life if I refrain from using it
or phrase it differently ?" Like it would probably be funny if
you posted on FB "I just got banned from A Pea In The Pod when
they found out I was only a chubby gal. Rude!" You could also
change your profile to say "10 years overdue with a burrito baby
from Chipotle." But where it gets dicey is when you put your
immediate circle in situations where they temporarily feel
emotionally invested ("oh, I thought I was gonna be a grandma")
or intentionally forgotten ("I just told her last week I cry

I have what I consider "intimate knowledge" of very few of my
social media contacts. That would be limited to DH, DDs,
sibling and parent.
That being said for no particular reason, I don't think it's
inappropriate for a person to post that kind of a joke. But it
can be hurtful. Unintentionally, because they didn't know,
carelessly because they forgot someone's situation, or
intentionally because they're a jerk.
Whatever. It's social media. If you (general) don't like what
I post.......unfriend/unfollow me.
I really had to think about your question, though. I don't have
a strong opinion about it either way. I was just trying to
explain to the OP what the big deal was.

Exactly. And I've seen this on facebook in different iterations.
Pregnancy, divorce, new job, etc. It always starts like this:
"We're pregnant and so happy! [Cue paragraphs of waxing poetic
here]"
...ha! April Fools!
(and usually the message at the bottom isnt just April fools,
but its worded to mean "Omg you are so freaking gullible and i
am so amazing for pulling off this prank. hehehe hahaha!" with
an undertone of "y'all are stupid"
