Old is New Again After COVID shot

Wow!! Tomorrow I'm going to get in my vehicle and drive myself
to the grocery store and shop there for the first time in 12
months! I've driven myself a few times over that time, to
doctors and dentist appointments. A few times I've been driven
by my daughter to a big box store or garden center for a short
shopping trip. She decided way back last March that I was too
old to risk going out any more then absolutely necessary so she
has been doing my grocery shopping. It's been two weeks since
my 2nd vaccine shot so I'll put on my mask and hope I remember
how to shop on my own.
Anyone else have a tale to tell or a wish they are looking
       forward to fulfilling?

We're in our early 60s, so we got our first round a couple of
weeks ago. We've been pinging all our friends, checking on their
vaccination status and seeing if they'd like to get together
       after their second shot.

Mr. Pons and I are both in our 70s. We’ve had our first shot of
the Pfizer vaccine and will have our second soon after Easter.
The only real unpleasantness we’ve had with COVID is not being
going out to eat. We can certainly get meat, dairy products,
good fruit and vegetables within a short walk from our home but
we did miss buying a meal and having someone else do the dishes.

Otherwise, we don’t find our lives that much different.
I suppose we just lead very dull lives.

Vaccines are rolling out quite a bit more slowly for us - they
just announced that anybody 70 and older can register to get the
vaccine. My MIL just got hers today.
Our anniversary is April 28. I would dearly love to go out for
a meal that day. Right now, restaurants are allowed 50%
capacity up to 50 people. You wear your mask into the
restaurant and anytime you leave the table but once you are
seated at your table, you can take it off. I'm hoping we'll
have at least had our first shot by then. Regardless, we'll go
for a late-ish lunch, if the restaurant is open that early. I'm
going to phone and ask as we get closer, as our numbers are
going back up and I don't know what the government response will
       be.
Going out for dinner is really the only thing I miss. But since
money has been tight, we probably wouldn't have been going out
much, anyway. We have gift cards that should pretty much pay
for the whole meal so the only expense will be gas to get there.

I'm looking forward to being able to try on shoes. I have
trouble finding shoes that fit me, and mail order and return
gets frustrating even when the company doesn't say "we'll send
you a return label" and then falsely claim to have done so.
I also want to go have sushi, but the shoes are more important.
Second dose in two days, so I can do things starting April 10.

I will be getting my first shot in 2 weeks, so by the end of May
I should be all set. Looking forward to seeing my sister, her
husband, and their cats. And not WORRYING so much about
       everything!!!

I'm looking forward to attending fairs, festivals, and expos
again. It may not happen this summer, but the MD State Fair
has already announced that they will be open - late August/early
September. I'm so excited. I've missed them so much.

My husband hit full immunity two days ago. We went to
reconciliation at church and then to the grocery store where we
met. (I haven't been inside a grocery store in over a year. He
might have done one or two shops over this year. We've done
       pickup.)
Then we went to the Dollar Tree (living large!) I've had a list
of random things we needed: kitchen shears, placemats, a couple
baskets for the pantry. Going to Dollar Tree after a year is
worse than going to the grocery store hungry. We own a mini
       Dollar Tree now.
We had the electrician out for a walk through on a project
       yesterday morning.
We went to the gym last night. Only 10% of ppl were wearing
masks, despite the order that masks are to be worn indoors at
all times. We wore ours the full time. There's no way I'd be
comfortable there if I wasn't fully vaccinated. (As it was, I
came home and did a nasal rinse and used Xlear.)
Followed by Aldi for produce; they have the best produce at
great prices. Then Lowe's for things for an outside project.
I'm looking forward to Mass this weekend and for Holy Week.
Also, live music. At this point I'll listen to any genre
       anywhere.

My second shot is next week. I'm most looking forward to a
pedicure, although I'll have to tip the poor woman very
generously for what she will be subjected to after a year
without a pedicure. ;D I would love a massage but I'm not sure
if I'll feel comfortable with that, even after being fully
       vaccinated.

I don't qualify for a COVID shot yet. However, my parents live
in the neighboring state where they are doing a better job at
distributing them, but I don't qualify there either. However,
they are determined to sneak me in for one. I want to do my
part, but I am waiting my turn. Meanwhile, they are driving me
nuts!!! I am looking forward to not trying to figure out how to
deal with a new unknown experience. First it was figuring out
how to live without toilet paper. Next it was trying to figure
out how to ensure the virus didn't come in the door with me.
Then it was learning how to make/find masks. And now it's
figuring out how to get a shot!
