Also, OP, bear in mind that aside from the other
professional issues, there is this: your car insurance may not
cover her if you have an accident. In other words you might
leave yourself open to being sued since you "voluntarily" drove
her. You'd have to check but it's certainly something I would
check into if you ever do this again.
Yes. That’s why I advised that OP ask HR look into the insurance
implications of this. Acting as the company taxi could
invalidate her entire policy.

Years ago, I was giving someone a ride to get to the workplace.
My boss found out what was happening, pulled me aside, and
explained that there could be insurance issues and advised me to
stop immediately. (Which I did)
And, yes, how does she get to work?

The OP should talk to her actual insurance company first and arm
herself with the facts if she decides to go to HR to discuss
issues regarding her boss.
Not that she needs insurance as an excuse if she never wants to
give rides while off the clock (it's her right to say no), but
you can never arm yourself with too much knowledge when it comes
to standing up for yourself.

Apparently she’s not uncomfortable with me- she asked if she
could leave with me today, when I left a half hour early to
avoid overtime. She was refused this “ accommodation “ .
She is the same person who objected to holidays and who
sings continuously-and if she is not singing she is on FaceTime
with her mom or friends- the phone is on almost all the time- If
it weren’t I might consider the idea that this was a safety
measure and not self centeredness. If anyone says anything to
her she tells us “I have rights “ and “ It sounds like a
personal problem to me”
The last time I drove her was about a week ago when we had
freezing rain and everything was coated with ice — and even then
she told me she has the right to record the drive.
I have had it with her and will not drive her again.

Is this person the boss's daughter, niece, relative, close
friend of the family (mistress)?
It sounds like she's getting special dispensation for some
reason or another.

One thing that people haven’t mentioned that you could do:
since it’s an order from your Boss, I’d put in for overtime and
mileage. If you get pushback, say “Boss has pressured me to
give Coworker rides home, so I figured that comes under “other
duties as requested” in my job description. So, I should be
paid for my time and wear and tear on my vehicle.”
Of course, you should go to HR, and as others have said, check
with your insurance company re the liability issue.

I'm not sure I understand exactly what you mean by her
"recording" the ride. Does she record your conversation, the
silence, music playing on the radio, or what? Is it a video
recording or an audio only one?

To answer a couple of questions- she’s not related to anyone
that is discernible, not a mistress, unless it’s the best hidden
affair in history and how she gets to work I am not sure, she
comes in a half hour or so after me.
She video records the entire ride ride from beginning to end
every single time she is on my car and tells me she has the
right if I object.
Thanks all, I really appreciate hearing I am not selfish or out
of line for objecting

She probably walk to work in the mornings. In the morning, a
healthy person can be full of energy. By the end of the workday,
they might be drained and it's also darker outside.
But that's not your problem. All you ask is not be filmed. She's
not respecting *your* rights as the car owner. She may have
reasons for filming, but it's up to her to find rides with
someone who don't mind being filmed.

You have every right to refuse to allow her in your car and she
has NO right to record you without your permission. I'm sorry
but frankly she sounds mentally ill and no job in the world is
worth dealing with a boss who forces you to drive home someone
you're not comfortable with in your car on your time with no
bonus pay. As others have pointed out, your insurance might
not even cover you for such a situation.
If your boss fires you for not following his instructions, I
would not hesitate to take him to court. He is so very much
overstepping here. If he fires you, I would file a wrongful
termination suit against the company or him if it's his company.
