Canada Day and 4th of July.

What are you planning on doing?
We’ll be having a little dinner of brats, beans and sauerkraut
at home. We’ll also be watching the Macy’s firework display.
Macy’s is doing things a little different this year. They’re
putting out the usual barges but, in order to avoid crowds,
they’re not publicizing where they will be. The idea is that
people will watch from the comfort and safety of their own
       homes.
       I think that’s a wise idea.

Well, of course the 4th July is normally just another ordinary
day over here; but as it was announced three days ago that
restaurants, pubs and bars in England can finally open again (if
they can provide reasonable safety measures) that day, we're
definitely going to stay in that evening. There are bound to be
a lot of drunk people behaving stupidly.

We don't usually do much for the 4th because my neighbor has
PTSD. I am looking forward to an long weekend. I am planning to
put some flowers on my great grandparents' graves this weekend.

To my knowledge, all of the city/town organized Canada Day
fireworks have been cancelled. But it wouldn't surprise me if
some of my neighbours set some off. Very late and scaring the
crap out of our dogs. ::)
We don't really have any plans, other than to keep working on
stuff that needs to get done around the house. DH will likely
be going back to work soon, provided he gets clearance from his
surgeon next week. I won't be so I can keep plugging away,
getting DH's help in the evening for things I can't do on my
       own.
Edited to add a missing word

I'm fairly certain all of the fireworks displays in the area
have been cancelled, except for the one in downtown DC. I'm not
sure what they're doing to limit attendance (if anything).
We'll probably end up doing a cookout at home.

DH and I take possession of our new property on the 1st, so
Canada Day will be us cleaning our new home! I'm hoping to get
our bbq moved on the first day so we can do steaks :)

I'll probably do what I always do on weekend these days - cook,
eat, get on the treadmill, and watch an enormous amount of
television while sewing or doing counted cross stitch.

LOL! Same here. Well, except for the sewing/cross stitch.
I don't usually go to see fireworks anymore anyway, and it's too
hot here to do a whole lot outside.

I live in Santa Barbara, California, a resort town about 1-2
hours from Los Angeles. LA has had its bars ordered closed again
and the beaches will probably be closed before the holiday
weekend. On such a holiday weekend, we'd get a LOT of visitors
from the LA area. I suspect it will be much worse this year.
So, while the governor didn't order SB to close its bars it did
strongly recommend it. However, late yesterday, I believe, the
local health officer did. The exception is those bars that also
serve food. So there are plenty that will still stay open and
apparently bars can apply for emergency food licenses.
I do not plan on going anywhere. I have plenty of groceries at
home and no need to go out. The fireworks were cancelled but as
of this writing, the beaches are open. Which means we are
       probably going to be swamped.

It looks like many cities in my state will hold fireworks but
people must stay in their cars. Other towns are holding parades
and food fests. I don't know how that's going to work though.
Me? I'm staying home like I do every year :D
