Very possible. A friend of mine has a Jack Russell that goes
absolutely crazy when someone turns on the ultrasonic cleaner at
       their store.

       While completely possible that there's a noise I can't hear, I
think she's just a dork. She's done it with electric as well as
gas carts, and only while they are more or less immediately in
front of her/our yard. (She's done it in non 'home locations'
too - at my work - so it's not just home protection).

       Dear Cooper,
I realize that in the two weeks you've been living with us, you
have become convinced that you are starving to death. You are
not. We are simply being responsible pet owners and trying to
help a pudgy dachshund slim down to a size more suitable to his
back and joints. You are not going to die. We're calculating
your caloric intake carefully. You're fine.
So please, don't get upset with us that we've fenced you off
from the volunteer pumpkins you've been trying to eat. For
frak's sake, dog, they aren't even ripe!
       Love,
       Mom

The late Cairn Terrorist used to hate windsurfers. He'd run up
and down the beach screaming curses at them like they were
invading Nazis and he was the Home Guard.

       Dear Rosie,
Yesterday's prank wasn't funny. Really! I came home with loads
of shopping bags and brought them into the house. Then I
couldn't find you. The grown up dogs all know not to go through
the front door without a lead on, but you are only 4 months old
and are still learning what's OK and what's not OK. I looked up
and down the street, then came back in and checked every room in
the house. Twice. Even the ones I knew you couldn't possibly be
in. I checked the garden. Twice. Then I went up and down the
street again because if you weren't in the house or the garden,
you must have slipped out when I was getting the shopping bags
in. Finally I came home to get my phone so I'd know if anyone
found you (hopefully before you got squashed by a car), only to
find you in the hall grinning at me!
Where were you hiding? You aren't scared of anything, you just
seem to have thought that scaring your hooman stupid was a fun
       thing to do!
       Love
The one who aged 10 years in 10 minutes!

We had a terrier who hated windsurfers. He'd run up and down the
       bank screaming invective at them.

       Dear Molly,
It was lovely meeting you; I'm so glad you enjoyed our extended
cuddle session, even those parts when I was remiss enough to not
       be scritching with *both* hands.
I'm so sorry that you can't come home with us, but your human
said I'm about #325 on the list of people who want to adopt you.
       :'(
       Sincerely yours,
       Random Visitor Lady

       Dear Robin,
Thank you for sharing the last 12 years with us and for giving
us so much love. When you came to live here you had only ever
seen lady humans, and didn't think you needed to pay any
attention to the other kind, but gradually you started to accept
and eventually love the other human too. You have given us so
much from being a show dog, to lure-coursing, which you were
really good at. You and I even had a go at Obedience
competitions. You could have been successful there too if you'd
had a halfway decent handler instead of me. You and Nimmi gave
us your babies and you are still with us in them. Most of all,
you were a gentle soul and you are leaving a big hole in our
       hearts.
       Run free old man.
P.S. Can you please explain to your son that he doesn't need to
wee on the kitchen door to prove he's in charge now?!

Thanks, and for the record, the kitchen door has been dry for
the last 3 mornings, so maybe Socks feels he's proved his point!
