OP -- if you're going on a Princess cruise ship you are in luck.
Princess just cancelled all cruises for the next 60 days.

Here's a list of cruise companies and their policies re
cancellation right now for anyone who's interested.
As far as I'm concerned, if the CDC says, "Maybe not a cruise
right now," then I'm going to take it seriously. Getting stuck
on a ship and then overseas for who knows how long sounds
       terrible.

Yes, the cruise did get canceled jpcher - that pretty much
solved the problem since we are now all in the same boat
(...well not really). Everyone is pretty disappointed but I
think the terms of the cancellation are actually quite generous.
Someday I’m going to get that vacation time!

Or just go on a hot weather cruise, because according to
Norwegian Cruises sales people, Covid 19 can't survive hot
       weather. :-\

       Say what?
There's a theory warm weather killed SARS, but this is not
acting like SARS. There have been proven cases in hot weather
countries. People need to stop acting like a "used car salesman"
and be all about the almighty buck. These are people's lives on
       the line.

Someone needs to tell the Southern Hemisphere countries
(Australia, NZ etc.) where it’s still pretty much summer that
they are hallucinating their cases. I’m sure Tom Hanks and Rita
Wilson will be delighted to hear they aren’t really infected. /s

Glad things worked out. Even if the cruise hadn't been
cancelled, I agree with what everyone else is saying. You would
not have been rude to pull out (without offering to cover anyone
else's costs). This is a very unique situation we are going
       through.
Now, if CORVID-19 wasn't a thing, and you were just pulling out
for some other mundane reason, my answer would be different. At
the very least, I'd suggest you pay the difference between one
half of a double, and the premium single cabin, so your
cabin-mate wasn't stuck with the additional charges.
