This is always an interesting point to me, that a child's visit
to a grandparent is of benefit to the parent, but not to the
child. Or of benefit to the parent, but not to the family as a
unit. They're visiting their grandfather, not necessarily my
dad.
It's like, when people are planning weddings, and they say, "I
have to invite my mother's brother, so that counts as being on
her list," instead of saying, "I have to invite my uncle, so he
goes on my list."
And they were asked, "Do you want to go?"
Sure, I footed the bill, but they're both flat broke and not
working, so how else would they go? If I'd insisted that they
pay for the trip themselves, they'd have said, "Well, it would
be nice, but I can't afford it."
(Like, I said, I'm so glad this is hypothetical, because I can
entertain all these options and opinions, and I don't have to
pick one!)

If the situation were that Mom bought Adult Kids airline tickets
to a destination of their choice as a gift for a birthday or
something, then if they choose the bump, they keep the money or
vouchers.
But this looks to me like Mom paid for everyone to go on a
family trip — destination irrelevant — and the bump really
didn’t even make much difference to the travelers (as opposed
to, say, having to sit all night in an airport). So I would
say Mom gets the money/voucher. It’s just reducing the total
price of the trip; she’s still paying for all of it. And
probably the next family trip, too.

If I were the child (well, offspring), I would tell my mum *she*
got a voucher/cash back, and not assume any claim to it, but in
all likelihood she would split it with me, or put it aside for a
family event/trip

I think it should go to you...If you're paying the flight then
you can reap the benefits offered by the bonus offered..If you
hadn't paid their flight they wouldn't have the opportunity
anyways

Definitely them. They are the ones being inconvenienced. Then
that's happened to me on business trips, my company has never
asked for the money.
