Done in glittery fabric with fancier ribbon, it could be a
bridal 'emergency kit' bag - tissues, touch up makeup, sewing
kit, pain relievers, etc.

I see them working very well as reusable Christmas or birthday
gift wrap.

This would be nice!. And you could wrap the item in a single
sheet of tissue paper so it isn't seen through the hole in the
top.
Or maybe you could attach a flap of a matching lining fabric (or
a scrap of the original) to cover it, with snaps on three or
four points.

I'm a nerd, and that's a dice bag.

The only thing is this:
They do have a fair sized gap in the top where the fabric
bunches up.
That makes them not useful for most practical solutions.

I had thought of candies (wrapped), but cookies is a good idea
too! and game pieces - I want to make a quilted game board, but
yes, would have to find some way of keeping stuff from falling
out. Gift bags is the main idea, I guess, but I don't have many
people to give gifts to. Maybe I can make them and sell 'em
cheap to my friends to give things to their friends in! haha!
They can definitely be made larger as gmatoy said she makes them
in various sizes. It's a great quick project to get rid of
larger scraps.

Or a couple of sheets (offset), so the points stick through the
hole in the top - contrasting sheets to look like more
petals/stamens?

I gave that one to my friend whom I visited with yesterday.
Every once in a while I take an easy fabric craft to do with
her, and thought this one would be perfect. She liked the cookie
idea, and I said something along the lines of hey... I have
Christmas fabric... you could make cookies...! She liked that
idea too, so we may just do a shared work project! We'd line the
inside with waxed paper, at least on the bottom, and then tissue
around that so the hole was covered. I think the ties would
prevent anything from poking out the top nicely but that's a
good idea to try too. Now we will have to make a list of who we
would want to give them to, and then decide if we want to do all
that work!

^ I think that's a super idea for collaborative gifting [or even
for a stall at a fair/fayre].
I had a really bad night last night, so was reading the usual
murder mystery to relax [works for me!], and suddenly out of
nowhere the idea "gold coins" popped into my head - you know the
sort where it's a big disk of chocolate & thick gold foil
stamped with a monarch/president's face on either side, that are
popular around Christmas.
A hint of gold peeking through wouldn't be a problem, and there
would be no transfer of CookieLoveliness to the fabric...
Maybe only suitable for children? But I'm the kind of 'big kid'
who is not fussy how my chocolate arrives as long as it does. ;)
;D
It would work beautifully with pirate fabric (in my head, at
least). :D

Miriam, the gold coins are a terrific idea too. Now I wish I had
some pirate fabric...
And you know, a gold coin, if they're big enough, might be
enough to "plug" the hole in the top.

I love how an idea gets new life when we start kicking around
ideas!

It's fun, isn't it?
The only problem is making the ideas stop, so I could get around
to actually doing stuff. ;)
