Support this forum by helping people

Instead of reimbursing me for the fees that keep this forum ad
free, I am asking that everyone pay it FORWARD.
My intention was to come up with a short list of charities that
I would encourage people to donate to. But, there are so many
to choose from and we have members from all over the world. And
it can be a difficult thing to give your information to some new
org because you will be solicited thereafter.
So, I am asking you to pick a charity and donate to that charity
in the spirit of this forum.
I would ask that it not be political in any way; be something
that provides aid and hope to people or animals. Many of you
likely have local charities that you regularly donate to.
Please consider adding some additional amount to that as
supporting our community here.
You don't have to give the donation in the name of the forum.
Not at all. All that is important is that you know that you did
it in support of the forum.
You can check out many charities on
HTML https://www.charitynavigator.org
to make sure that your money
goes to an organization that will use it responsibly.
If you don't have the means to make even a small donation, then
please consider an act of kindness for someone else--one that is
over and above what you usually do. It could be as simple as
getting the door for someone or picking up something they
dropped.
And if you would like to share who you donated to or what act of
kindness you did, please do.
Thank-you!

I donated to TinyKittens $120 CAD last week in honor of Grandpa
Mason, and today will order the book, Am I a Throwaway Cat?, by
Maralix's mom, who is donating all proceeds to TK.

What a lovely and warm suggestion! Thank you for being so
generous to us and to other organizations.
I was making a delivery today for diapers to a local women's
shelter today. I will be adding an additional case of diapers in
honor of BM&B.

My church has an orphanage in the hills of the Dominican
Republic for refugees from Haiti who came over the mountains
years ago.
I am the Underwear Lady. Every time we send a barrel of stuff to
them (medicine, clothing, even canned or dried food), I buy
multiple packs of underwear in every size.
So when Hurricane Harvey hit Texas, I went to the Amazon Wish
List for the Texas Diaper Bank and sent them some stuff. They're
my SMILES charity on Amazon.
And lately I've been seeing lots about charities that provide
menstrual supplies for homeless or poor women.

I did a Boys and Girls Club donation - they're doing an anti-
bullying campaign with a focus on kindness. Seemed like the
appropriate place for my bad manners donation.

That is so lovely of you, Lady B - I will make a donation when I
get home from my holiday, and enjoy the time till then thinking
of which cause to support in BM&B's name.
Thank you.
