Well, good for you!(And I love getting to see how beautiful your
entries are.) I think that maybe next year, more people will
enter. Once they see that there weren't many entries, it might
make them want to try, too.

Thanks for all your kind words. Gmatoy, the horticultural and
craft show has been going for 74 years... I think participation
has probably been tapering off in the last decade or two! We're
hoping that being as next year is the 75th that they can
generate a little more interest. We're going to try really hard
with the quilters, anyway!

Thanks for all your kind words! Somehow I missed the
notification for the ones posted late on the 18th and 19th.
Yes, Rho, very special snowflakes - LOL! I wish I could remember
where I put that pattern too, as I want to use it again for a
quilt, using glow in the dark fabrics for the snow! But if I
can't, I did find another pattern that will work.
Again, there wasn't a lot of competition, but I didn't know that
when I went in to look at everything, and it was a surprise to
get so many ribbons. We (the quilt club members that DID enter
something) are going to really work on every one to enter
something this year. I think a lot of people's problem is they
think "oh my stuff isn't good enough" and really, yes it is! I
hope Twila's entry, winning second out of four, will encourage
people because at 70 years old, she's a fairly new quilter, and
she was quite pleased to get second with her mystery quilt that
the group did last year. She brought her mom to the show...
yeah, I said her mom!! I asked - Mom is 92, and bright as can
be!
