Re: Dealing with complaints from direct reports about shared

Our boss addressed this after complaints from 1-2 other people.
Coworker mentioned these meeting to boss and others during a
different meeting. An odd conversation ensued. “Why are you
doing that in the kitchen? That’s not the place for this, you
need to move it.” Coworker argued “It’s a public space.”
Someone there for this conversation suggested using the actual
stand up conference room. He said “I can’t! There are tables in
there!”
Subsequently I learned that he tried to engage anyone that
walked into the kitchen during his “standup” by asking them if
they have any topics to discuss.
There’s some social cluelessness at play. Not sure what to make
of it but I’m glad this particular issue was addressed.

About the bolded- on one of those days, when my snarkiness
breaks free, my response would have been "yes, you're meeting
in the kitchen and you are in my way".
Glad it was resolved.
