Teppanyaki restaurant question

I love teppanyaki restaurants. i love watching the chef prepare
food on the hibachi. Yes, onion volcanos and fried rice hearts
make my day.
but here's my question. The chef plates each item when it is
cooked. Everone will be served the shrimp appetizer and
vegetablesat the same time, but someone who ordered the shrimp
entree might be served before the chef even begins to cook the
steaks.
I've noticed that some people eat each item as it is plated,
while others wait until the entire meal is plated before they
begin to eat.
Which is correct? Or are both acceptable/

IMO both are acceptable.
The food is hot, so it makes sense to eat right away. Waiting
for the steaks will mean the shrimp are cold. Plus there is
entertainment to watch (the chef) so the other diners have
something to do.
The first people to get served might want to eat more slowly, so
they still have a little bit when the others are eating, too.

I agree with Betty. No sense in letting the food get cold.

I am an addict of these type restaurants. I wait until
everything is served because that's what I like but my sister
who I usually go with (and usually all the strangers at my
table) eat as they go. I don't think there is a wrong way to
Teppanyaki

I always have another issue with these restaurants that I think
I handle fine. I hate the gouts of fire and big "volcanoes"!
The food is great, but if everyone else wants to see that fire
and so forth, I simply excuse myself to the ladies' room.
However, that doesn't stop the other tables from suddenly
erupting in fire, so I just don't like to go at all anymore. It
is a fire/explosion phobia.

I don't like going because I can't eat the food. Not at all. The
first round to go on the grill has three things I'm allergic to,
two of them anaphylactic. By the end of the whole ordeal, I
think it's like 5-7 of my major food allergies.
I go, I sit, I may be able to order *something* off the regular
menu if the kitchen is really good about food allergies. The
last time I went it's because my friend begged me to go
celebrate her birthday with her. I didn't get my actual food
until nearly everyone else was done eating. They screwed up my
favorite dessert and I gave it to my DH to eat because I was
just that sick of waiting. I was not happy they had the audacity
to add an 18% gratuity to the check.

I love the food at those places, but I find the floor show
seriously irritating and absurdly and unnecessarily
time-consuming. I go, because I love the food, but the act
doesn't do anything for me.
