       To honor Memorial Day I donate money for as many veterans giving
       out paper poppy flowers as I come across, sometimes going out of
       my way to a particular store to do it (the veterans will stand
       outside stores). I do it in remembrance of my father, who was a
       WW2 veteran. But I don't do anything else specific to celebrate
       the holiday. Many of the people in my area treat it as a sort of
       summer holiday, grilling out, etc.

       This is Fleet Week in NYC.  There will be a parade of Navy ships
       up the Hudson this morning.  For the week ships will be open for
       visiting and there will be memorial services on the Intrepid.
