       A terrifying number of those are spot—on. I say terrifying
       because some of my colleagues never need to see that list, else
       they’ll know my secrets. ;-)

       I'm rolling in laughter at how universal this really is.
       It can also be a cheat sheet for the indirect communicator
       style.

       Love "Can you confirm for me?", although that also might mean
       "Your last e-mail was so incoherent I'm not sure what you said.
       I'm not even sure it's from you."

       We could add to this. I've just signed off with "You're the
       best!" which means "You're my boss, and I had to pester you to
       do this, so please don't be angry with me."
