says to ALL: I moved around in here and made sure that things
were back in their places. I thought of the young child that
died today because I could not save him. His father said he had
taken him hunting with him and that an animal caught his arm. by
the time he had gotten here so much blood had been lost. I drew
a breath and was tossing the bloody rags in the fire slowly to
let them burn. this was the part of my job I didnt like...

says to ALL: Life was so precious. I tossed the last bloody rag
into the fire then turned to clean up the room. I knew I could
get a bond but I really didnt feel right doing that. The child
needed to be honored. I took a cleaning bucket and some
disinfectant and filled the bucket half way with water before
adding the disinfectant. taking some clean cleaning rags I
dipped them in the water then squeezed it from the rag to start
cleaning the bed that I had already stripped the sheets from and
burned....

says to ALL: Once it was done I stepped down the hall to the
back door and opened it. tossing the water out the door. my face
was pale slightly. I had lost Men and even women but so far
young children had not really been a part of it. I lifted my
chin and looked out to the cold night the wind ripping past me
to the inner walls of the Infimary

says to ALL: i turned closing the door and went back inside.
stepping into the room and made sure it was well cleaned. taking
out new sheets I made up the bed then turned out the light to
that room. The family had taken the childs body to tend it and
set about proper arrangements. I turned to the office and sat
down at the desk opeing the drawer I took out my first death
certificate and ink pot....

says to ALL: I stood and went to the small cabinet and took out
a key I had on me and unlocked the cabinet opening it and taking
out a small cup and a bottle, opening the bottle I poured a bit
of the mead into the cup. I couldnt handle a bowl of it but
needed something to steady my hand and mind. Adding a bit of
water to it before I put it back and locked it up and turned
setting the cup on the desk as I settled. I was sure Id get in
trouble so I stayed in here. looking at the paper I lifted the
cup and took a drink, a bit more than I had planned. making a
slight face then taking a second smaller drink before setting it
down and taking up the quill...

says to ALL: I finally got my hand steady and started to write
the document. I printed the name of the boy clearly and then the
parents names in the rightful blanks. making sure it was neat. I
stopped when it came to cause of death and I had to consider a
moment. my mind went off on me hunting in the same area that the
Man and his Boy had been. I wondered if anything was in the
traps. I pressed my lips together and looked back to the paper
and then filled in 'animal attack - loss of arm and to much
blood' He had bled to death before they could get him here and
didnt do much to try and stop it. I wondered if many of the men
had basic training to at least try and keep them or someone else
alive...Most must have it...

says to ALL: Once it wasd done I let the ink dry as I looked it
over. I then turned and used the flint to light a small burner
under a small metal bowl that was filled with a hard substance.
I let this burn now as I opened the drawer and took out a small
box. I opened it and looked inside. I recalled when I got this
and I closed my eyes a moment before opening them. taking out a
small round object with a 3 inch handle I placed it on the desk.
checking the ink once more I nodded pleased that it had dried.
while the bowl heated on the corner of the desk I took another
drink of the mead and made another face. I could feel it
burning. but it was the only thing I could handle really. Kalana
being to sweet for my likes. I took out a book then opened it to
the death page and saw the previous records from Healers before
me then carefully made the notes in the book...

says to ALL: Once the wax in the bowl was hot enough I carefully
dipped a small spoon into it and poured a bit to the bottom of
the parchment next to my name then taking the wooden item I had
taken from the box I pressed it into the wax making an embossed
seal in the paper showing that it was a valid copy. I then
pulled it back steady and looked it over as it cooled almost
instantly but I kept the paper flat to ensure it didnt crack or
break in the process...

says to ALL: I finished up and locked it in the drawer till
morning, I would send it via messenger, allowing them tonight to
morn. I leaned back and took the cup drinking hte last of the
mead....
