way everyone, free woman especially the way they played their
part to defend the Axe, insisting not to be left out. The fear
was evident in their voices but there was something else too.
.....pride and excitement, a sense of belonging and the need to
be counted in that time of need was amazing. I think that there
were those from other homes that respected the way they handles
themselves in our time of need

was a huge sound..I turned quickly..but it was just some clouds
passing and made a brief noise..I thought..I kept walking and
made my way to the steps of the hall and climbed them..

before allowing the door to swing shut behind me as I moved up
alongside them walking slowly so they could keep up with me.
Their steps were shorter, so smaller slower steps allowed them
to keep pace with me. Looking up at the path leading up the side
of the cliffs and it did not look as bad as I had remembered. As
I walked I brushed my hair back ensuring that it was tied neatly
into a ponytail, I hated the hair to obscure my vision. Although
the sun was out it did not warm us enough to feel really
comfortable but walking helped to warm us.

tried to keep up with Kruls long strides..it was hard as his
legs were much longer than ours..I held my light shawl tighter
around my shoulders and could feel the sun was doing it's job
today..I loved the outdoors..well..not the nasty part of bugs
and stuff..but the times when I get to make my way to outdoor
markets is always nice..

steepened my breathing still easy, slow and deep, I did not rush
as the women were struggling along beside and behind me as they
laboured along. I smiles that shadowed smile as I though of
their efforts. It was precisely this tenacity that made me hold
onto this home, they were good stock, tough with a sense of
pride that put many men to shame. Looking up towards the ridge I
saw it was not long now and we would have reached the crest.

see we were making way..the hill was getting a bit steeper..but
nothing we couldn't handle..I do remember when we had to prepare
for war..and most guards were out and about along the hill
sides..I looked to you " you know..this isn't so bad..we should
do this more often.." I didn't mention that I should have
changed my boots..I hated getting these walking boots dirty..but
I kept that to myself for now..grinning..

is at the cliffs overlooking the Outpost and Inlet
says to Leilou Tzuris Dwildor's : at last reaching the crest of
the path, grass and shrubbery now growing beside the stony path
as we walked closer to the edge of the cliffs. Tree stumps had
been set out not far from the edge so that you could sit and
take in the view. I heard a sound of a footfall over to the
right behind a clump of shrubbery, a shadowed shape moving
behind the bush drew my attention just as a guard came into
sight. He wore the colours of the Outpost and a steel Y slotted
helm and carried a gorean spear with a 12" leafed shaped spear
head......"Tal Rarius, I trust all is still and peaceful?" He
nodded and spoke a slight smile teasing his lips" Aye it is Krul
my duty today has been relaxing without the Master at Arms
screaming at us and making us repeat our weapons drills over and
over again" he smiles once more and made his way off to the left
as he patrolled the cliffs his eyes cast towards the sea leaving
us to enjoy the view and each others company

in her pack for a bota of water she carried attached to it,
taking a sip while she waited for the shakey feeling to subside

and for a moment thought that it was good that the Master of
Arms saw fit to patrol the heights. Moving to take a seat on a
log at least 3 meters (that's 10') from the cliffs edge looking
out at that expanse of blue as it stretched off towards the
horizon and seemingly melting into the sky giving the appearance
that there was no horizon. Grinning as I turned to the
woman......"awesome and breathtaking isnt it?" Amira smiling
agreed as I heard the waves crashing into the rocks at the base
of the cliffs the sound reverberating and seemingly amplified
from up here.
