says to ALL: Well the medic never showed and I was thawed out
finally but the guards kept me at the gate, if it was for
nothing but conversation, with each shift change, but hey I
wasn't upset about this I was actually enjoying it. I mean where
else could you find good conversation, a free meal, and all the
blackwine you could drink. And now the topic turned from bows vs
cross bows.

says to ALL: Several FM passed through the gates escorting Free
Women to various parts of gor, and the women were all giggly,
and the men were grumbling something about they could be off
hunting or doing other things then playing escort for their
mates. The mates every now and then over heard one of them and
would say what is that you say my love? and the man would reply
ahm nothing dear so do you have your list? All fake smiles and
of course the guards at the gate ribbed the men without the
women seeing that is, and I well heck I know when to stay quiet.

says to ALL: Eventually though the solitude was broken by Jarvis
showing up with a red talking bird on his shoulder..He growled
his greetings at everyone and set the bird on my shoulders, he
talks to much EL you keep him with you I'm tired I want sleep.
With that he turned and walked away and I was stuck with the
bird with a rather loud volcabulary.

says to ALL: (the bird): That's right big boy you just walk
right away from me you big lug, see if I care, you were boring
anyway. Then the bird turned to me and said what exactly do you
think your looking at (insert colorful language here). This is
where I started wondering where worthless was, he might need a
new friend. And so I asked about the jit. The guards snickered
said something bout the jit being on a leash because he set
Nyah's verr lose, and with that thought I gulped trying to
remember if I shut that gate or not. The bird picked up on my
gulping and turned to one of the guards "EL is guilty, look at
his face he is guilty"
The guard looked at me, (why is it when a bird tells a person to
look they look?). I looked at the guard at the gate and said
well I might have left it open when I went to milk the verr but
that verr needed milking. The guard put his hand to his face and
just shook his head, you could tell though he was trying really
hard not to laugh.

says to ALL: (The bird) See I told you so EL is guilty, EL is
guilty skawk. He suddenly flapped his wings hopping down from my
shoulder after he bit my ear, and maybe I had it coming as I was
sitting here mumbling the thought that fried talking bird
sounded really good right about now. But it didn't stop me from
laughing as the bird sank down to the ground and his feet got
wet in the snow as well as some of his feathers, and the way he
stepped was funny. Lift one foot shake it off and then finding
his feathers a bit wet with one claw in the air then step down
and do that dance again it was rather funny.

says to || Nyah Coultrain ||Bond: And soon that pesky bird took
the hint and headed for higher ground climbing up on the gate he
started to sing off key mind you "EL did it over and over again"
and of course my comment next was, I'll take your cross bow we
can have fried talking bird it won't hurt anyone at all, might
even taste good, unless of course worthless finds away to rescue
the menus that is, so then the tune changed to "oh worthless
where are you my friend, EL is trying to fry me and make a meal
of me"

says to ALL: And there on top of the gate for all to hear that
bird started calling to worthless, here worthless you big
handsome jit, come get me my brother save me from the mean man
who wants to fry me. Looking up at the Jit while holding my
bleeding ear lobe, I said you know I could just stew you! Now
get back down here and behave yourself. The bird looked at me
held up one wing held in that fashion all for 3 minutes then
jumped down to the other side, and then you heard the "yuck wet"
and the guards as they looked over the other side turned back
and laughed saying the bird is dancing again. And my answer to
that was "well he must be showing his need some how". And that
made them laugh all over again.

says to ALL: (talking bird meets six legged critter called a
sleen)Bird to sleen: you don't look like a jit! Sleen thinking
to self: Tasty little treat it would crunch so well in my mouth,
drool dropping from sleens mouth. (talking bird) Yelling louder
for worthless saying something about a big harry creature
slobbering all over him, and how sad sol would be if the thing
actually ate him. (bird trying to look tough at the sleen).
Sleen looks at bird and sniffs it, drool drops on bird, bird
screams and runs. Sleen with full belly watches it go, still
wondering how it would sound to crunch down on that thing with
the red feathers that made way too much noise to be useful).

says to ALL: Worthless hearing his name called in such an
alarming manner runs to the sorce of all the noise dragging his
leash with one of the girls chasing after him, scoops up the
bird and strokes it lovingly growls at everything around minus
the girl and walks back to his home..and if he could talk he
would probably be saying (George where have you been, I will hug
you and stroke your feathers, and don't you worry about the
humans sol will take good care of you, and nothing too bad will
happen to you).

says to ALL: pulls out one of my clean rep clothes, and presses
it to my ear, well I'm guessing its a good thing there's no
medic around, although I got the perfect story line to tell them
about this injury. The guard looked at me and said well heck
don't you think I would look like a pirate with an ear ring? The
man rolled his eyes..yes he did roll his eyes, then said only
you EL, only you! So here's how it happened. I took my quiva and
was trying to put a hole in my earlobe and the blade was extra
sharp and I was lucky I didn't cut more then just the lobe.
The guard shook his head. Okay then how about while out hunting
I came across what I thought was a dead sleen and just as I was
looking it over its claw got stuck in my ear..no that wont work
there arent any claw marks. Okay the bird did it!

Yes Arnvid, I do have way too much time on my hands, I keep
telling people this...I don't think they are listening...which
is probably a good thing too.
EL..who is still trying to decide which is more tastier fried
talking bird or stewed talking bird.
