       Sad/Bad News

Danny Lye has left the club and so has player Rory Hill. I
have been told that Shaun Holland has also gone and one wonders
how many others will follow. Forget the "mutual consent" clap
trap. That only follows a major falling out. Maybe this was
over money for more and better players. If so, who did Danny
talk to Don or Derek? I think we should be told. Anyway, I'm
sure I am not alone in saying "Thank You" to Danny, Rory and
Shaun for all you have done in giving us fans a great couple of
       seasons.

Add to that Goodchild and Welford.
I heard it was a big bust up, Danny quit and some of the players
       will be following him.
Not sure what to make of it but in these 2 years Dan has done
       fantastic job against the odds!

Be interesting to know if the bust up was about money or
tactics. Even more interesting to know who will play for the
club on Saturday. I suspect some of Jason's youngsters will
get a start. Someone at the club needs kick start some
positive PR before this whole episode turns into an absolute
       disaster.

Crosbie was at his defiant best yesterday.
Youngsters did themselves proud and Matt Day's finishing was the
       difference.
Credit to Jason Whitmore and all those associated with the youth
       set-up.
Only low point of the day was a certain section being derogatory
about Danny Lye. No need for such "songs" after what's been a
       traumatic week for the club.
Also credit to Redhill FC, who are a great little club and could
have made it a real close game had they taken their chances in
       the first half.

If you mean by a "certain section" our loyal vocal choir, and
the derogatory song being Danny who?
       Let me tell you this...
Everyone of those lads were disappointed at Dan leaving, the
song was sung very tongue in cheek and was not rude or hateful
       in anyway.
Knowing Lyzee well, he would probably of laughed at it.
The choir and Dan always got on really well and had some great
       banter.
So rest assured that everyone will always remember our Lyzee and
be thankful for what he has done for Ashford.
There is no crisis at the club before all the doom merchants
       start creeping back out!
Don and Dan simply couldn't agree on a few things on the way
they individually saw the club going forward. This often happens
in football between managers and owners.
Neither was right or wrong, just different views on the way to
       go.
Dan decided to leave now rather than risk not being happy and
leaving at a more critical time in the season.
So no blame on either man.
Don's not rushing in to replace Dan as wants to make sure he
gets the right man. He's had lots of interesting applications
       already!
But who knows, if Jason Carrys on doing a good job.....
Only 3 players walked, Welford, Hill and Goodchild. Adrian Stone
       was released.
A little bird tells me two of the coaches could well be back
this week after mulling things over since Dan left.
So keep the faith all, as I said no crisis here!

Thank you to Justlovemyfooty for the first proper statement
regarding the departure of Danny. This is what I mean by good
       PR. Better late than never.
P.S. The latest Non-League Directory is worth a look. This 800
page bible of our game is not cheap but is of special interest
this year. The front page includes a small picture of the lads
celebrating promotion and inside the front cover there are two
pictures of the team playing away to what looks like Cray
       Valley.

You're very welcome. I will always try to find out what's going
on behind the scenes and report what facts I can without harming
       the club.
Everyone involved are working so hard to build the club for the
future. Dan leaving is a blip, but maybe for the future
stability of the club, a good thing.
