Kent senior trophy winners!!!

At the third attempt Ashford United finally won the Kent Senior
Trophy on Sunday.
What a fantastic afternoon out along the banks of the Medway
bathed in the April sunshine.
A huge crowd of 700 plus turned out with at least 600 being
Ashford supporters.
It made for a fantastic sight to see so many wearing AUFC
merchandise, a sea of green and white.
Scarves, hats, shirts and so on had all been being sold from the
Homelands through the week.
Interest in the club is on the rise and the feel around the club
is so positive.
So four games to play, three are basically at home with one away
trip to Croydon.
It's simple, win all four and Ashford will be playing back in
the Ryman south next season.
Of course nothing is a given, its football!
But we can all do our bit by turning up and getting behind our
team.
I can see us having some bumper crowds for our remaining games
at Homelands, be part of it!!

They will not be playing in the Ryman South.

To be honest I know the sponsor is changing for next season from
Ryman, but I couldn't find the name of the new sponsor.
The come back is interesting though?
A positive post, just won a cup, four wins possibly less from
promotion and you nik pick about a sponsors name. Really!
I thought you all wanted to see the club do well? Hmmmmm

You did not win the cup. The team did.
However you called it the Ryman league. No connection between
the two.

Justlovemyfooty, how dare you post something positive on this
forum you should know that most on here are against the club
doing well! Kent Senior Trophy winners n possibly 4 games from
promotion to Ryman league or whatever it's gonna be called next
season n frankly couldn't give a toss what it's called. COYG

MarkyP, my humble apologies for going against the rules of this
so called "Supporters" forum.
I'll try not to be so positive in future.
Obviously if the club get promoted the upside down diy pitch
will have to be relayed at a cost of 6 million, and the ground
will need knocking down and rotating 90 degrees for what ever
reason, I'm sure someone can make something up!
Oh we're all doomed!!! It's been a dreadful season, we haven't
won a cup, a team has!
Unicorn, what are you on? Any normal supporter of any team
classes it as "we" won a cup or league.
As someone that puts a lot into helping the club, and turns up
week in week out, home and away I regard myself along with a
growing many as part of the team.
You speak to the players, manager and coaches, they'll all tell
you the supporters spur them on and help them win games.
So we have won the cup 🏆

Being serious.
In the 2009/10 season the then Ashford Town where playing in the
Ryman South or step 4 as i prefer to say.
For season 2017/18 the now Ashford United stand an excellent
chance of again being at step 4.
That is seven seasons to get back to where they were to start
with.
Is that success or failure. I have no idea. i will leave that to
others.
As an aside a town of this size could easily support a team at
step 3 or step 2.
Step one the National league is not unrealistic in the long term
but does take serious financial backing.

I think we all know just how hard the scefl is to get out of,
with only one team going up its ridiculous.
It could obviously still be the case we miss out again this
year, nothing is certain in football!
I honestly believe when we get out of this league the club can
really start to move forward. As you say unicorn, we have a
population that could easily support a side in the national
leagues.
The club are in talkes with the local bus company about having a
stop at Homelands which would be great for the club.
Not knocking you personally unicorn, but it does annoy me when
people post stuff on here that they really haven't a clue about.
All those ridiculous rumours, they've been proved wrong! And
there's so much more that could be said about a certain company
if they hadn't put a legal silence on it all.
I'm sure one day in the future it'll all come out, and I tell
you, everyone will be left stunned!
