What a relief for the long suffering supporters. One just hopes
that United keep their run of outstanding form and pip
Crowborough to the title.

They have been allowed to apply.
They have not been accepted yet as the other seven applicants
have not been.
To say that they will be promoted if they win the league is
premature.
No one can say at this stage that the team that wins the league
will be promoted.
Its too early.

I'm pleased for the players and supporters but there is still
the little matter of the dodgy pitch. Who is going to pay to
put it right?

Yes lots to decide. Other applicants may have their problems as
well.
As it stands Ashford United could win the league and not be
promoted.
Alternatively they could finish third and be promoted.
The next 3 months will tell.

Far be it from me to put a spanner in the works, but as things
stand it seems to me that rather than worrying about who is
going to put the pitch right (answer anyway is VBar), AUFC fans
should be more concerned about where they will be having to
travel to in order to watch their team, because my understanding
is that as things stand it will definitely not be the Homelands.
As usual, some rose tinted glass wearers jump the gun with their
overt optimism, without thinking it through. At least winning
the appeal gives the players the hope that all their efforts
might not be in vain, but a lot can happen between now and the
start of next season.

I dont think anyone has said that promotion will be automatic.
Certainly it is pleasing that United are at least in the frame
for consideration and hopefully
will win the SCEFL.Of course there are a lot of uncertainties
and some good points raised as to WHO will bear the costs of
repairs. I guess we will all know by the end of May !

Don't you have to prove security of tenure for the following
season for your application to be accepted?
