There are those who have been in denial for a considerable time
whilst the raft has been drifting towards the waterfall.
It's going to be quite a drop and it might be a good thing if
       there were no survivors.

I see on other sites that even the faithful now acknowledge that
the pitch has failed its safety test and are blaming lack of
investment in its upkeep. Others blame the 'cut price' way it
       was put together originally.
       So what happens now?
It has been reported that all Ryman Youth League fixtures have
been pulled and that AUFC and CCFC may be without a home venue
for the rest of the season.

In the worst case scenario I can see Canterbury easily finding a
temporary new home, but can't help thinking that AUFC will find
it far more difficult, having got on the wrong side of most
local clubs. Could it be a case of having to switch all their
home games to away games, if the league will agree to this>

So where is this latest info to be found or is it just gossip?

Thanks.....no great surprise to be honest considering the dramas
       when installed.
So Mushy........V B loans + interest being paid off? if so who
       by?

Kennington being lined up to play at Homelands and that way the
covenant on the Homelands is kept to. Canterbury moving to
Faversham and AUFC knocking on the door of their old friends
Folkestone/Hythe/Maidstone. On the plus side this means the
owners will now be able to watch their team home and away.
Although AUFC say it has all been sorted
       now.................................

       What a shambles.
So the pitch which the original VBar loan was taken out for, has
now been confirmed as substandard, as many stated at the time of
installation, the loan terms were not subsequently adhered to
allegedly, and Vbar invoked their charge and the ownership is
now in dispute costing £000's in litigation and wrecked the
credibility of the the Town's senior team in the process.
Despite all this the team are doing fairly well and yet now they
will have to hope another club will agree a groundshare.
You couldn't make it up.........are there not a "fit and proper"
person tests to pass before being able to run footy clubs?
       Wonder what's next...........points deduction anybody ???

Couldn't possibly comment on the current situation but here
       are some general points.
When one is taking out a loan and one is struggling to make
repayments it is wise to at least make one installment.
When one is taking out a loan and one has no intention of
repaying it it is wise not to make any payments at all as that
       is money wasted.
When one needs a large medical operation but one cannot afford a
top surgeon, a vet is better than nothing (just)
When one wants to fool various football authorities it is best
to have a Plan B ready for the time they eventually realise what
       has been happening.
When one wants to fool various football supporters please do not
assume that their silence means you have succeeded in so doing.
When one wants to move house one may need decent references.
None of the above may apply, but are nevertheless good advice.

Still nothing on the AUFC and SCEFL websites. Everyone now
relying on this forum for info. The 3G installation was a
bodge job from day one as supervised by DC. V.Bar were told
pitch was naff last October when potential buyer pulled out.
Did they carry out their own inspection? As usual, the real
losers are the loyal fans. V. Bar now facing claims from AUFC,
Canterbury City and anyone else who has paid in advance to use
Homelands. Agree that Canterbury will probably be able to
ground share without too much trouble but who will want to take
       on AUFC?
