With regards to Mr Shannon, even he admits that he can be a
liability when he hits the keyboard after a drinking session.
I am sure we all remember the rant and foul mouthed argument
that he had online with Mr Crosbie not so long ago, which was
settled by an apology and removal of the offending posts, and
all seems well on that front, for now.
However, following a rant at VBar and Glyn Jones he was asked to
apologise and not repeat the accusations, which, after sobering
up, he did. However he then went on to make the same accusations
again, when drunk again, but this time they were not willing to
accept his drunk excuse and acted, as is their right. It could
have been worse, they could have actually taken legal action
against him, so in reality he got off lightly, and only has
himself to blame.

In answer to you both:
I with a couple of mates went to said meeting, I did not feel I
could say anything without being shouted down. I was not alone
in that feeling.
I think you only have to speak to one fan who can no longer go
to home games as he is banned after comments made on social
media.
Both parties read the forums, not just 3D or minotaur.
[/quote]
I never felt that meeting was in anyway hostile or had any
negativity floating about the room. There was nothing stopping
you saying anything, and if you had then that would've been fine
as they were looking for everyone's opinions and that's your own
fault for not putting your view across.
In reference to the banned fan, would that be Sam Shannon? If
so, then he was banned by Minotaur, nothing to do with the 3
D's, who all actually are really good friends with him. He was
banned for slating Minotaur and Mr Jones on Facebook but not the
actual Ashford page.

Perseval,
Of course you didn't, you weren't looking at it from the same
'side'. You find your opinion is always welcome when it agrees
with those in charge.
Re the banned fan, that was my point.

From the Fans Facebook page.
United We Stand and Ashford United are delighted to be able to
tell you that the first Family Funday will now be taking place
at The Homelands Stadium on Sunday May 7th 2017 after taking
back ownership of our beloved ground.
More news to follow.... Watch this space!!!
interesting.

Watch this space, as one interested party appears to be unaware
that ownership has yet changed hands, and it may or nay not
happen, it seems. Somebody being a little premature, maybe. If
so, they could have just scuppered any chance of it happening at
all!!

I totally agree with my rant last summer; I felt extremely upset
at that moment in time about goings on and my words were crass &
uncalled for. I apologized profusely because I was out of order
and quite frankly let myself down.
What really gets my goat is the complete exaggeration about
'rants' against said Chesterfield based company. Firstly, they
were not 'rants' - they were two small albeit crass HASHTAGS -
in a group on Facebook which at the time was a private group
meaning you could could only see them if you were part of the
group, both HASHTAGS were MONTHS apart and (I believe) tactfully
when I did receive a warning from said Chesterfield-based
company it was to an email address that I barely use. Do you
know how many times I've been told I was banned for 'several
mouthed rants' when actually, let me reiterate this, it was two
HASHTAGS?
I won't hide the fact that I have messed up in the past and have
done some silly things and 5 months away from the ground I have
been going to all my life put a few things straight in my mind.
I hope you see how desperate I am to get back there - on Sunday
I took my brother up to the barracks in Harrogate as he enlisted
to fight for his country and it broke my heart that I couldn't
take him to one last home game before he went & the silly sod
refused to go to the Homelands without me.
I do not claim to be perfect but I can claim I have made a
massive positive difference for the club I.e. promoting it and
bringing it into the digital age. There has not been a single
day since my ban started where I haven't still been promoting
that club and I see no signs of me stopping. I have also made a
conceited effort to cease any 'drunken online behaviour' since
the ban and there have been none since before it happened.
As and when I am back in the Homelands you all better believe
I'll be keeping my nose clean - and singing extra louder for my
brother. While many hide behind aliases on this forum I hide
nothing - why not stop me next time you see me for a chat?
-Sam

Must have been false information again as the posting on the
hub, twitter and fans page has mysteriously disappeared. Perhaps
its because they are wondering how they can have a Family fun
day on May 7th when the pitch will be dug up.Or are they
offering free digger rides to the kids? The plot thickens......

Terrific news for the club..........just a shame so much time
and money has been wasted that could have been better invested
into the club instead of lawyers etc.
Now just a question of sorting the ground & pitch out in time
for promotion.

So how much needs spending to get the whole ground / pitch up to
the required standards?
