The Big Question

There are rumours that this could be AUFC's last game at the
Homelands, with the League having already been advised that half
of the annual rent was still outstanding, and that the deadline
for payment is Aug 31st.
Does anyone know for sure if this situation has been resolved.
The story I have been told is that should the money not be/have
been forthcoming then today will be the last game at Homelands,
and that the League are in no mood to allow the club to play at
a substandard location, even in the short term.
I am sure that the outstanding amount will be paid right on the
deadline, though. It is the sort of game that DC likes to play,
even when under pressure.

Is it just a coincidence that recent performances have been off
as rumours of money trouble start to surface again.

What rumours might that be then? Good midweek turnout all
things considered.

There is a story coming from another club that at least a couple
of Ashford players are already looking around for new clubs, but
whether these are fringe players looking to play, or players
looking to move for other reasons I do not know.
Haven't heard anything concrete about money problems, but with
the alleged wage bill, and the early exit from the FA Cup, I
would not be at all surprised.

Can't argue with that. H&B always used to be a bit of a bogey
team , so yeah, a good win indeed.

Good win but using on loan players as our young talent goes
elsewhere? Not keen on this, I've always supported home grown
talent rather than bringing them down from London. At this rate
I'll be supporting Canterbury if many more of our players end up
there.

Was at a Ryman League game yesterday evening, and one player has
already left the club because he refused to go on loan to
Ashford, and there was talk of another young player needing to
go on loan to get some games, but didn't have any intention of
going to Ashford. Have to start asking why are Ashford taking on
so many loan players, as totally agree with fluff, that is not
the way forward, but also, why are local players not even
willing to consider going to Ashford?

Err. Perhaps it's because the club in question is quite near and
they know all about AUFC :'(
