Sandy Parker

With the untimely death of Mary Hallybone in January 2015, Sandy
Parker took on the important job of Ashford United club
secretary. She carried on doing this job for the remainder of
the 2014/15 season and for the whole of the 2015/16 season with
great efficiency. Recently, she has been told that her
services are no longer required as the task has been allocated
to Denise Peach. This change has not been made public on the
club's web site so I'm sure all true Ashford fans would like to
say “Thank you, Sandy, for all your hard work and best wishes to
you and your family for the future, which may well be spent
watching another club”

Welcome to the forum ChathamBill.
Why have the club not released this info? If it is the case,
that is really bad news, Sandy really was the face of the club
over the past 12 months. All the best to her with wherever she
goes and whomever she chooses to support. Maybe she'll join up
and explain why the club felt the need to relieve her of her
position.
Out of interest, how does one fulfill the secretarial duties if
one is banned from home games?

I had heard from a couple of sources that Sandy was ready to
pack it in at the end of the season anyway, but the news that
the gruesome twosome have tightened their grip on the club has
come as a bit of a surprise, to the League aswell I hear, who
apparently are not overly impressed.
I guess in theory you can do the job without access to the
ground, but it does leave one or two bits of the role very
difficult to fulfil.
Are they hoping to use it as a battering ram to open the door to
Homelands again, or as a ready made excuse to attack VBar with
when something goes wrong, which it inevitably will.

Best wishes to Sandy who did a very good job and tried to answer
all fixture queries on the old forum.
Doesn't look good that there isn't an official confirmation of
this change on the official website, let alone some sort of
thank you.
Very poor in-fact and Sandy deserves better.
