       1.9 server ideas

       anyone up for 2  servers for 1.9,  sort of like we do now... 1
       survival and 1 creative... when i say survival, i mean everyone
       is in survival mode...  admins, mods, archs, and builders cant
       spawn anything... the only time i think it would be ok to spawn
       items in survival, is if you are building infrastructure for the
       server..  and it would be easy for and op to switch someone's
       mode in survival but it wouldnt happen often... i wouldnt be
       opposed the copying and pasting something from the creative
       server to the survival server if it looks cool and serves some
       purpose... i'm on the fence on whether flying should be allowed
       in survival.. i'm kind of leaning towards not allowing flying...
       with enchants and where spawn is being located, flying isnt
       really needed... in short:
       Survival mode:
       -no one can spawn items: including admins, mods, archs, builders
       -no flying
       -spawning items will only be allowed when building
       infrastructure
       -copy and paste cool/useful things form creative to survival on
       a case by case basis.. not everything you build will be pasted
       over...
       - TP / TPA /Warps  should be allowed
       - Admins / mods will still have the ability to fix griefer
       damage
       - there will be an area with  plots of land 25 x 25 ish(maybe
       smaller)  that people can use if they are having trouble finding
       where to start out... the roads will already be there, there
       will be a community mine... i guess you could call it a starter
       town...
       -thinking of putting a enchanting room in spawn.. not sure
       though...
       -gain money by killing monsters...
       We might not have a creative server... might be too much for the
       server..
       Creative server:
       -people wont be put in creative mode
       - /i will be used to get items
       -flying mods will be allowed
       Obviously no griefing will be allowed on any server.. any
       thoughts?

       Sounds like a good idea, i especially like the pure survival
       server. I dont see why buildings would be copied over though,
       but i guess if it is somewhat rare. And flying would obviously
       not be allowed since that would ruin the whole survival part.
       It would also get rid of the drama around the builder rank.
       Althought, i fear that the creative server would be crowded and
       the survival a ghost town with just me running around killing
       cows as on the temporary server.

       i would be building most of my stuff on the survival server...
       it would take a lot longer but that wont bother me too much... i
       would like to get the store and economy set right... that would
       help in that we wouldn't have to farm as much..  but i did have
       a lot of fun searching for rare items on the last survival
       server i was on..   in farming, you have the potential to die
       and all that farming you did was for nothing..  so i would
       definitely like the /back feature...

       Yeah, but a server without farming or fear of death sounds a lot
       like creative  :P

       well you would still have to farm for money... and there still
       is a fear of death... i'm just talking about  a quick way to get
       back to where you died..

       Yeah okay, i  guess youre right. It would be be nice if we could
       get the residence plugin again to prevent griefing and get rid
       of the rpg-craft or whatever the name is, that was just
       annoying.

       I guess Rice had an idea that instead of turning in diamonds,
       gold, and iron for money, we gain money by killing monsters...
       i like that idea but i have no idea how much money they would
       give.. with out knowing that it's hard to figure out the prices
       for the store..

       I just didn't log in because for some reason I've been having
       trouble..Anyone else not able to log in?
       Anyway, killing monsters for money is a good idea, and would
       make it so there is actually a reason to "survive". You would be
       mining for minerals even if you couldn't sell them ,so it didn't
       add much to the game. Regarding prices: Either A.) make it so
       the monsters don't give lots of money or B.) Make the shop
       expensive. BECAUSE obviously monsters are much easier to find
       and kill than mining a few minerals. They also require less
       equipment, take lots less time. Eg: Zombie= $2    Creeper= $8..
       low #'s like that.

       well 1.9 spawn is almost done...
       trying to figure out the economy and how much people will get
       for killing monster..  how does this base line example sound...
       10  zombies for an iron bar
       30 zombies for a diamond
       So it would cost you around 30 zombies for an iron pick and 90
       zombies for a diamond pick...

       Monster value ratio...  since some monsters are harder than
       other, we will multiply the scale values to what every we decide
       the baseline value of zombies to be.. for example:
       Zombie = 1
       Skeleton = 1
       Creeper =  1.2-1.5?
       Enderman = 2-3?
       Ghast = 2-3?  -  dont know if this will apply to us, the nether
       is still up in the air...
       Does this look ok?...  the were scaled in difficulty...
