I have a dream, I've seen the light
Don't put it out, and she's alright
       Yeah, she's my sister
Gunbunny sidhe | App 6 | Scathach Knight | Kinda identical to
       Brigid
       ---------------------------------------------------------
I chuckle as Brigid does my introduction for me, which frees my
mouth to take a huge bite of the half-BLT she offered. I make
happy noises, but given the presence of another elf who seems to
have some pretensions to being Miz Manners-san, I don't talk
with my mouth full. I'm not a total vulgarian.
As Rilith pushes off from the table in search of a spot to
smoke, I swallow, and then say, "Good t'meet ya, chica." Polite
enough; I'm not sure why she's departing, but I am not privy to
       all of the context, either.
And I turn to Sealgaira and say, "Well met, and like Brig said,
I'm Morgan Aithne ni Scathach," copying her method of the
introduction. That's one of the antiquated forms, as I recall,
but it's been years since I was involved with anything
resembling a Court. "Knight of the Scathach, unless they demoted
me when I ran off with that Ferrari."
       Which is entirely possible.
"And yeah, we're twins. I'm the older one by a few minutes, or
so we were told." Whether or not this is true, I have no idea.
Recollections of that time in our lives are impossible for us,
so... why worry about it. Null sheen.
"She's different, sorta. Because she's Brigid. I'm not, because
I'm Morgan." That makes all the sense of a lump of mayonnaise
chucked at a wall, but I don't care. I smile, though, as if
confirming that I'm either nuts or an idiot. Sometimes both,
I'll admit, but not to another raen.
I'm about to ask her something in Sperethiel, but a look from
Brigid quells that impulse quickly. Instead, I say, "That's some
well-crafted armor. Does it slow you down at all? I'd imagine it
would, but I rely on speed mostly." Noteworthy is the fact that
       there are a pair of pistols showing slightly under my jacket;
nobody informed me that there's any sort of reason not to wear
them, and plus, Sealgaira is armored like a fragging Tir
Paladin, so I can't imagine there will be much reason to
       complain.
In between my words and her answer, I take another bite of
sandwich. I was clearly speaking truth when I said I was
       starving.

"Yes, I returned from Arcadia to fight against the coming of
winter," Sealgaira says to Rilith. "However, I don't remember
any of it. I am not sure why, but the Mist obscures my
recollection. Even though I can remember almost everything
before that going back to the mythic age." However, the Sidhe
trails off as the Troll goes to smoke.
"And I am always happy to meet another Sidhe. Well met, Dame
Morgan. I am not sure that stealing a Ferrari is demotion
worthy. Even if, or especially because it's a **** Italian car.
Lotus or Bentley all the way. Unless it was the car of the local
noble. In which case, you should tell them that you were freeing
them of their **** Italian car and giving them an excuse to get
a real car." Selgaira gives Morgan her award winning smile.
The Fiona looks at Brigid for a long time, her eyes narrowed.
"Okay, I know that Americans have a fetish for weapons of all
kind, but I would bet a night with me that a vector-thrust scout
tank doesn't exist. So, tell me what you're on about. Because
right now, either you're putting me on with some kind of game of
who can fool the Sidhe the most, or well . . . I am not sure
what else. Though I should tell you, this is not the way to toy
with me. It doesn't even vibrate. So, speak plainly."
While she waits for Brigid to explain, Sealgaira gets another
coffee, with another biscotti. Idly she wonders if she has to
       worry about calories here.
"And my armor? It's Sidhe plate that I brought it back with me
from Arcadia. No, it doesn't slow me down much. It's not quite
like wearing clothes, but compared to the plate armor that
exists in the autumn? It's better, lighter, more flexible." She
hums softly. "It's as good at stopping bullets as the huge bulky
       armor the autumn military uses."

Dear sister, can you help me lie?
I’ve told the truth so many years
But no one seems to wanna hear that
       I’m not someone else inside[/center]
       App 6 | Innocent | Charisma 4 | Seductive | Lavender eyes and
visibly pointed ears | Mildly Identical to Morgan
       ---------------------------------------------------------
“Us?” I actually tilt my head sideways at Rilith for a moment
with that question. “Arcadian Scathach?” But she’s clearly
fiending a bit… or, you know, maybe it’s the ‘too many elves’
thing. That happens with a lot of folks, really. Immortals weird
them out. “Sure. We’ll be here when you’re done. You want me to
order you something to have waiting?”
Regardless of Rilith’s response, I’m already ordering another
BLT, this time with a side of fries… just so I can refuse to
       share! MUAHAHAHA!
Ok, no, we all know I’ll share them. Even if I’m rolling my eyes
when Morgan indicates she’s older than me. She is, but it’s not
       like that matters much.
“Oh, they wouldn’t dare... besides, I’m pretty sure it belonged
to one of the Duke’s guards, so if he can’t even secure his own
belongings, that’s his failure. All we did was expose a weak
       point in the Duke’s personnel.”
Oooh, I can feel that moment when Morgan changes tracks… good
call. I’ve been intentionally dropping a couple of words in here
and there in the middle of things that could easily cover, like
‘ay’, or ’sister’, and calling Morgan ‘meraerthti’, the
sperethiel for ‘warrior of’, and I don’t think either of them
caught it. They haven’t asked, mind you, but neither the elf or
the troll have given any sign of familiarity with the language.
       That’s worth keeping in mind.
“Ooh, and is it powered at all? Chameleon-coating? What kind of
sensor package do you have in the helmet? Thermographic, at
least, right?” Look, we have to get to know what kind of local
tech we’re gonna be dealing with, and even if the Stupidphones
aren’t all that impressive, we shouldn’t take anything for
       granted here.
Ohhhh, but then Sealgaira bets a night with her that a
       vector-thrust scout tank doesn't exist, and honestly... I can't
help it, I just laugh with delight.
"Morgan!" I exclaim, almost a shout, I'm so giddy, "No panzers!!
Ohhhh, this is just getting more and more fun. We should've
brought Bags, see if she could make one!" So much for changing
tracks. "Dame Sealgaira... I'm sure you're right, and there are
no Banshee LAVs in all the world." I nod a bit, smiling brightly
as I lean in a little closer, lowering my voice again to just
above a whisper. "At least... not the world you know. Surely,
you know of the metaplanes... the layers upon layers in which
reality sits... who's to say how many worlds hide within its
reach? Or how close they hew to one another?"
Honestly, I wouldn't be telling this to any of the mortal
Stupidworlders... probably not even to Rilith... but try as we
might, elves is elves, and I'm just gonna open up a bit more to
one of us than I am to anyone else. And now it's a bet. Nothing
says I have to cash it in if I win. I might even see if the
prize is transferrable, use it as currency somehow...
"You should see the toys we left behind..."

The troll moves with an implacable but steady pace, heading for
the door with only a brief look over her shoulder at Brigid as
she offers to order her something, to this theres a quick. "What
your having." Before she is gone outside of the conversation
range. It only takes the woman a few moments more to reach the
door, her free hand settling on the door handle and attempting
       to push gently.
The strength of a troll is never to be underestimated, and there
is a slight bang when the door opens, Rilith winces a bit,
having intended for something quieter, subtler, but sometimes
       that just didn't work out.
The older troll strode out into the Cafe's patio, her gaze
slowly turning to take in the woodland area that surrounded the
metaphysical space, she'd wait there for the door to slowly
swing closed, a hand reaching out to ensure it closed quietly
before she moved to the edge of the patio, leaning against
whatever was there as she let her eyes lose focus into the
distance. Her other hand, still holding the maligned cigarette
she had lit within came up to her face her eyes briefly focusing
on the ember glow of the heater before she looked beyond to the
       space once more.
She leaned there for several long moments, her breathing slowing
as she though on the situation, on the novelty of it all. It was
like the dreaming was trying to shunt her back into the world of
the fae, hard, as if reminding her of why she had started this
trip in the first place. To this she let out a wry chuckle as a
smirk ghosted across her lips. Finally, she brought the smoke up
to press between ashen coloured lips, the heater blazing
brighter for several seconds as Rilith drew in the noxious, but
pleasing cloud of nicotine and heat.
She held it, letting the heat spread through her lungs for a
time before slowly exhaling, the smoke rising above her to
disappear into the space beyond before she straightened up.
Slowly one arm wrapped around her midriff as the other kept the
cigarette perched in the air to the side of her face, smoke
lazily drifting upward as the woman seemed for all the world to
be centering herself, or maybe simply enjoying the sensation of
       a long ignored habit.

That BLT is history. I add a second one with fries and a
       fizzycoke onto the order.
"The Mists always fog our recollection of Arcadia," I tell
Sealgaira with a faint smile. I drop the slang almost entirely,
falling back into the more 'proper' speech I used back in Ti--
Portland. "I've never remembered Arcadia in all of my lives, and
I've had many. I remember the lives here in varying degrees of
clarity, but Arcadia? Nothing. Nothing at all. But then, my
house was barred from Arcadia a long time ago."
I'm casual about that. How can I care about something I don't
       remember?
"Huh. I've never encountered a Lotus, though Bentleys are pretty
wiz. Very elegant cars, if I recall correctly. The car belonged
to a noble, but we're still not sure which one. We haven't been
back to find out and I figured it was better not to poke the
whisper-stream for gossip." The corner of my mouth quirks up.
"I'm... actually not a Dame to the Dreaming. Only to the
Scathach... we have our own ranks based on skills and the
       mastery of same."
That much, at least, carries over to our world, from theirs, or
       vice versa.
"Americans? Uh... yeah, I'm technically a citizen of Tir
Tairngire. I mean, we lived in UCAS, but... I can assure you
that a vector-thrust scout tank does exist, even if it's not
here. We wouldn't toy with you about milspec gear. But... oh,
Bags would be beside herself with delight at being the only one
with one. Bagheera's an... associate of ours," she explains.
"Ahh, that makes sense. I have some light armor myself, but I
tend to be working from range, or from cover. Still, it looks
like it moves well, and now I'm curious about what a set
would... set me back. And military, I assume you mean current
milspec, not what we're used to. I'm not familiar with the
current state of the art, I'll admit, but... well." Another
faint smile flits about my lips; I love to chat about war and
implements of same, because it's my vocation. "I will have to
       catch up on what's current."
       <<Given how much you're telling her, I assume it's okay.>>
"Though," I add with a smile, "That's not exactly something we
want to advertise outside of rarified company."
Yes, yes, I brushed off my crusty-dusty manners and started
       using them. Imagine that.
I take a moment to look outside to check on Rilith, see that
she's smoking and looks relatively calm, as in, she's not
breaking shit or rampaging, so I'm not about to bother her.
Still, I can see how a whole passel of elves can be overwhelmed.
"So, Dame Sealgaira," I ask casually, "Is that bet still on the
       table?"

It is not powered, or Chameleon-coated. It is Chimeric, though.
Nor are there thermal sights in my helm.” The Fiona looks
between the two. She was about to say something else when Brigid
       informs Sealgaira about their existence.
“OH! You mean in the Dreaming. Oh, well there is everything
there. Everything. Even things that make your technology look to
be . . . antediluvian. I read in a story once that there was a
gun that fired miniature suns. The shooter missed, so the gun
made everyone go back in time and then adjusted the aim so that
it hit. That’s out there in the Dreaming somewhere.”
And though the Fiona Knight looks to Rilith, and as there’s
nothing immediately wrong she lets the Troll be for a moment.
Then Sealgaira looks between them as Morgan explains more. The
Fiona nods, listening and sipping her Mocha.
“Well, if you’ve spent so long in the dreaming, you don’t know
much about the Autumn, then let me offer my assistance in being
your guide and help.” She very much does not mention House
Scathach or their status. It would be rude!
“My first piece of advice is never talk about this in front of
Dreamers. They will think you’re crazy at best. I can tell you
about current military gear in a general fashion, but I would
hesitate to call myself an expert in anything. You should also
be aware that stealing military gear anywhere is very much
frowned on. I believe some American did steal a tank some years
       back. Ultimately unsuccessfully.”
Sealgaira gestures to the technology that Morgan has. “You
should know that while things might work here, they will
probably not even make it into the Autumn. Most Fae will
understand when you speak about things in the Dreaming, so long
as they understand that what you speak of happened in the
       Dreaming.”
Then the knight leans back, her plates sliding across each
other. She looks between the twins. “It appears that I have lost
this bet. Oh dear. What a pity.” Sealgaira doesn’t sound sad at
       all. Not in the slightest.

OOPS! Look, like I said, I’m always gonna be a little less wary
and careful in a situation like this. It’s gotten us into
trouble before, it’ll get us into trouble again. It’s nothing we
       can’t handle. A little finger-wiggling, a little
trigger-diddling, pretty soon we’re laughing our way off into
       the night again.
<<Erp! Yeah… yeah, cat’s out of the bag. We are the superior

Besides, now that Morgan’s here… I actually turn away from
Sealgaira mostly, letting my attention mostly take in the rest
of the establishment. It’s an old routine, and one that only
works as well as it does because it means we have eyes in the
       back of our head.
No, really, the link includes a low-level awareness of all our
senses. In some ways, we really are one person in two bodies,
maintaining a polite fiction of individuality to not freak out
       the straights.
Rilith seems to be calming down outside… she was definitely

flirting a bit.. In her ‘I’m going to be really really subtle

I was worried that leaving everyone behind, she’d kind of… shut
       down.
But no, as always, as long as we’ve got us, we’re whole.
“Wait…” I don’t turn to look at Sealgaira, though. After all, I
already am, just, you know… with our other set of eyes.
“Stupidwo-err… your… reference frame… is in Autumn still? But
you’re here!” Yeah, shut up, that one caught me completely
off-guard. “How can it still be Autumn if the Trods opened?
Wasn’t that why you all bi-err… withdrew? To wait out the
       Winter?”
It’s still Autumn. That’s awkward AF. No wonder their tech sucks
       so bad!
<<But you should totally take her up on the offer to be your
retainer, before she realizes that’s what she did. Then you can
earn pixie-points by easing off on the terms of that. Hey, think
she’d let you try on her armor?>>
What? No, I’m not a troublemaker. I’m the good sister. Morgan’s
       Sinner. I’m Saint.

The troll has become as ice, still, quiet, her gaze looked out
into the greenery with something more akin to control now. Her
emotions might roll deep now, but they were in check, kept far
from the surface where they might affect her. She shifted her
weight from one foot to the other her features placid and
considerate, after a deep breath Rilith drew the cigarette to
her lips once more and took a long, slow drag, killing half of
the stick in one fell breath. She tilted her head back as she
did so, staring up at whatever passed for a sky in this space.
       This is what you wanted...
Her features screwed up at her own thoughts, and before her
emotions rolled up from the depths once she exhaled slowly and
with purpose. The smoke that escaped from her lips as she did so
was cold, the heat all but drawn out of the carcinogenic cloud
before she dropped what remained of the cigarette and crushed it
without a thought beneath her boot heel.
She'd take one last long look at the world around her, before
she turned and started for the door. Her pace was as always
implacable, and this time as she reached the door and opened it
there was no banging of the metal frame against its fittings,
just a casual act as if the Troll wasn't capable of ripping it
off its hinges without much of a sweat.
Once inside the Troll would shift her head from one side to the
other, letting the weight of her horns pulls at her muscles till
she felt a satisfactory pop. Its at this time she returns,
hopefully to find the BLT, fries, and a fizzy drink awaiting
her, should she, she'd look towards Morgan with a nod, and
something approaching a smile as she said simply. "Thank you."
She'd rise up onto her stool once more, picking up half the
sandwich and taking a bite before she shifted her icy gaze
       across those gathered.
"So, what did I miss? Or are things just about to get exciting?"

"No thermal sights or chameleon-skin, or even Ruthenium? Awww."
I pretend to pout at that, because why not? I'm about as subtle
as a brick to the face, but I'm told that's part of my charm.
       By whom?
       Never you mind that.
I nod eagerly as Sealgaira puts it all into perspective. "We've
lived there for as long as either of us remembers," I explain.
Then the story about the gun that fired mini-suns comes, and my
eyes shine with utter delight. "Wiz! I want one!"
       Because of course I do.
Dreamers. Autumn... they're still in Autumn? I look over to
Brig, who says exactly that just as I'm thinking it. Our world
made a lot more sense. To us, at least. There's a lot about this
world that's going to be interesting... and potentially
problematic. Are we ready to weather Winter? Or drive it back,
       preferably?
Brigid can tell I'm a little distracted with thoughts of Winter
when I reply: <<I think she might whip out the Sovereign if I do
that. Tempted to try anyway though.>>
"I'm thoroughly confused," I admit with a sheepish smile.
"Because where we came from, Winter passed a while ago." And
then Sealgaira comes out with that perfect line about losing the
bet, and I just offer her a sly smile, clearly approving of this
       whole arrangement. Oh, yes.
Well, my original discussion is forgotten for the moment, and at
that perfect moment, our food and drink arrive, along with
Rilith. "Welcome back, your timing is perfect."
I reach for my own new sandwich because half of Brigid's was
barely gonna make a dent in my hunger, and grin at those
assembled here, saying, "I'd better build up some calories,
then," and shoot a wink to the Fiona.
What? I'm a woman of simple desires. I like to shoot things, bed
novahotties, and have fun. It's a dirty job, but someone's gotta
       do it.

“Yes, it is still the Autumn in . . . the Dreamer’s realm.”
Sealgaira presses her lips together. “I am sure that whatever
you experienced in the Dreaming, it was wondrous, but the point
remains that without the Dreamers, the Dreaming is doomed. It’s
. . . it is wondrous the Dreaming, and so is Arcadia, I am sure,
but the fact remains that Winter will affect the Dreaming, too.
If we cannot fight it off, or at least help make sure it is a
mild Winter, I fear that even Arcadia will not be safe.”
Sealgaira looks between the two. The Dreaming can seem very
real, and to Fae it is. However, the only realm that can really
affect the Dreaming is where the Dreamers are.
“The Trods opened when the Americans landed someone on the moon.
A lot of Sidhe came back. I came back to fight, to rage against
the dying of the light.” The Fiona smirks. Yes, this is a girl
that laughs in the face of death.
Smiling to the Troll as she returns, Sealgaira answers. “Oh,
just catching these two up on the latest. They’ve been in the
Dreaming for a bit, so they'll need to get their bearings.” “
Amazing how you are not taken by bedlam,” she says to the Sidhe,
and not the fake-but-still-totally-fuckable Sidhe. “And while
that gun would be amazing, finding it would be difficult. And
moving a chimerical object that powerful into the Autumn might
be impossible. As for this place, this place is outside the
normal rules, as far as I can tell. Not the Autumn, nor the
       Dreaming, but, eh, it works.”
The Fiona looks back to the Troll and winks. “I apparently made
a poor bet. As I’ve lost, they both get to spend the night with
me. Whatever shall I do?” She is not upset in the slightest.
