I come in through the portal booth, into the Cafe. I need a safe
place to practice a little magic, and given how dangerous mine
can be, I think that this is the best place to do it. Lucien
doesn’t let anything evil take root here, so I can trust
that I’m not risking any corruption anywhere.
I like Lucien. Both of them! Mr. Carter too. He’s nice, on
the inside. Don’t trust the gruff, cold exterior he puts
forward. He’s got a big heart, I can just tell.
I order my usual family-of-five’s food and, over the
course of an hour or two, inhale it. Complete with milkshakes.
The entire time, I’m idly looking at the Crystal that Grim
and I found in the Catacombs in New Orleans.
I wonder what it is?
Only one way to find out.

[br][br]As Abi looks into the stone she'll feel herself drawn
into it. It grips at her, clawing at her will, attempting to
pull her and her soul into itself. As she pulls back, fighting
against it, she'll feel the powerful demonic resonance. Purely
demonic, like that of her own Avatar, but but different,
feminine and secretive.

“Oh no you don’t,” I pout a little at the crystal as it tries to
claw my mind in. I’m so disappointed in it.
Why is everything surrounding this crystal so mean?
I eat my last fry, as lady-like as I can (I even use a fork!)
and nod to the waiter as he comes along and clears the table. I
order a coffee next, because it’s rude to take up a table at a
cafe without ordering anything.
I furrow my brow, and rack my brain now that I’ve got the
resonance down. Do I recognize it at all? Does abbadon recognize
it at all?

well they remember their lesser key of solomon. Abaddon
certainly does. A name flashes through Abi's mind, a name,

More frowning. I don’t like demons, but I know a lot about them.
I’ve had to, because I live in a body with one.
But I don’t know much about this name. I know how to rectify
that, though. I smile, tip my server more generously than I
should have, and take the exit to the Cafe that leads to Madame
LEveau’s Arcanum Mysteria.

I find precisely one book on the subject. But I do find one!
Which is a good sign. It means that someone else not only knew
enough to write things down, but knew that someone would want to
know something about this Gremory demoness.
I’m subject to whatever they thought was important, but I trust
them. A little.
I gently dust the book off and carefully turn the pages. Don’t
want to go ruining the Chantry’s property!

[br][br]The book describes Gremory as a duchess of hell, she
wears a crown and rides a camel. She is described as being able
to uncover hidden truths, lost treasures, and answer questions
about the past, present, and future. The author also notes that
this particular demoness is a lover of young maidens, and can
help one procure their love. They also note that the crown, for
some reason, is worn on the demoness' waist

Hm. Well, that doesn’t help me much. I suppose I’ll need to tap
into Abadon’s mind a little bit more to learn more. I have the
resonance, so if I needed to I could technically summon her.
But that would be a Bad Idea™. At least without help. I should
definitely ask Grim if he knows anyone…

I open myself up to the demon, calling on his history and his
memories. It’s an uncomfortable feeling, and it makes me hungry
-- not just for food, either. For destruction. Indulgence. Sex.

comes from. Gremory is a broker of secrets, a lover of women,
and a power unto herself. She trades souls for knowledge. She
trades souls for power. She devours souls to increase her own
power. She especially likes the souls of artists, mages, and
faeries. Those that create are more...flavorful to her... As Abi
pulls in this knowledge she sees images of a beautiful woman
gorging herself. Clad in red and black and gold.[br][br]"Find
me."Abi hears whispered on the air. "I can feed you in ways you
cannot fathom." It continues... Then Abi sees a broken crystal,
much larger. The one Abi has is but a small part of a much
bigger whole.

I see the vision of the demoness devouring… a part of me is
jealous.
A part of me that disgusts me.
“Hush, you,” I say out loud. I close the book and stand up,
pushing it away from me. None of this puts any actual distance
between me and the demoness, but it does make me feel a little
better.
I take a deep breath. There’s a bigger crystal, that this one is
a part of. I hold it in my hand.
I’ve already felt it trying to claw into my mind. So the first
step, I think, is to shield my mind to prevent that from
happening again.
This takes a few hours of meditation, but I’m in a library at
the moment. It’s nice and quiet!

I let Abbadon’s tail slither around my mind. It almost makes me
sick, but it’s a necessary precaution. With that out of the way,
I grip the crystal in my palm and let Fate dictate what’s the
most important memory it holds.

[br][br]The crystal fights against the warding but fails. It
cannot pierce it... It's simply not strong enough like this. It
needs to be whole again. As for memories...There's a man, old,
frail, broken in appearance. His clothes are tattered and
frayed. He has the mother crystal. He hits it with a hammer
repeatedly, breaking it into shards. Another man enters, his
face obscured "Good" He says in the same demonic voice Abi heard
in the catacomb. Everything changes. The man is still there.
He's got the crystals and it's sisters. Abi sees him cast an
effect over them and they race off in all directions, landing in
various places, not just New Orleans, but many places... Off to
create servants and collect souls to be sent back to the mother
crystal...
