I shrug and snicker when he dismisses my question.
When Katherine points out the temperature is falling, I finally
notice. I need to work on that. "Yeah, he should probably get
out of here." I turn to Dean, serious now. "We'll look for Sam.
I don't think you want any part of this."

He waited to see if Dean was going to skedaddle or not, starting
to snoop a bit through the room and peeking into doorways. If
Dean seemed reluctant to just leave, he offered the man a
dazzling smile. "We can find Sammy and handle things from here."

She had not felt that cold. Not until Catherine had mentioned
it, now that it had been brought to her attention she shivered
and hugged herself. Stepping backwards so that she was beside
Phoebus once again giving him a concerned look before she looked
       over at Eve.

Dean nods to Phoebus and heads out the front door and I give a
slight shudder as the temperature takes a small dive into the
       chillies.
I take up position with Catherine, again, letting the Sidhe and
the Sorcerer fall into the back ranks while Laine falls wherever
she’d like to in stealth. I lead the group through the Ranch
House, heading down into the basement.
Spiders are crawling all over the walls, here. Hundreds of the
little fuckers are skittering across the cieling, walls and
floors. Cobwebs hang from every corner of the basement.
There’s an ancient stone door in the back of the basement that
looks really out-of-place. It’s inscribed with etchings that
resemble an octopus, runes filling the spaces between it’s
       tentacles.
“This leads to the caverns,” I say, placing a hand on the stone
and praying in my mind for Idi to open the way.
Nothing happens, though. This is normally when the stone moves
       out of the way…
“...Catherine? Please do not break the stone, but I need you to
       open the way for us.”

[br][br]I watch as the man leaves, and stay close to my lady as
we go into the basement. The stone is large, but I am a child of
the mountains. My sword is alight, and I will not sheathe it
while it's like that so I hand it to Eve, and sling my shield
across my back. The stone is large, as I said, but I have both
the strength of a troll, and the strength provided by my oath to
Eve. I lift it, and gently set it aside.[br][br]I pull my shield
back around and retrieve my sword from Eve, provided she returns
it. "I will follow your lead, my lady." I say to her, and again
allow her to lead through the maze of tunnels. Great...another
maze... Hopefully I won't be trapped in this one for two years.

I stick close to the group, though peeking in corners. The
spiders squick me a little just by the sheer numbers, but if
they aren't coming after any of us, just skittering around being
       creepy, I'm cool with it.
The cobwebs are deftly avoided, as cobweb is not my preferred
       hair product.
Then it's more standing by to stand by as Eve tasks Katherine
with moving the stone. I downright stare as she picks up what
has to be several hundred pounds of stone and gently sets it
down to the side. My gaze stays on her as I file through the
entryway to the tunnels until it finally snaps back to in front
of me to make sure I know where I'm going.

Phoebus poked around a bit, but followed the others into the
Basement and through the stone door. He does his best to avoid
the spiders- crawling on him, or crunching underfoot, and
followed into the maze like tunnels. "Any ideas on where this
leads?" He asked after a silent few moments.
Spiders made him think of Sluagh, but he doubted these were as
       friendly.
He took Jenessa's hand and gave it a gentle, reassuring squeeze.

Spiders! She was so not a fav. She didn't have arachnophobia
thank goodness, but they were still an unwelcome sight.
"Are the spiders always here Eve?" Dean said the dark
beautiful; woman had been talking to a spider after all. if
these were not usually here... She took a deep breath and tried
to not think about just how many spiders were probably crawling
on her. reaching out her took Phoebus hand and squeezed it as
she looked around Stepping through the now open doorway after
       the others.
"What can we expect from this place, Eve?"

As Catherine moves the stone door out of the way, a rush of
freezing cold air spills out and washes over us, along with a
       sense of despair and loss.
[quote]Willpower to resist an overwhelming sadness: Diff 8, one

I shake it off, though. It stays as a creeping feeling at the
base of my spine instead of gripping my chest with anxiety and
       forlornness.
Beyond the door is, at the moment, a pitch-black hole in the
wall. It’s impossible to see into it.
“No, the spiders are definitely a new thing,” I answer Jenessa,
and rub my hands on my arms to try and warm up a little. I can
see my breath! This is freakin’ NEVADA, OKAY? I shouldn’t be
wishing I’d brought a winter coat!
“The Caverns are like the Underdark, if you’re up to snuff on
your D&D lore. They wind up and down and all around and there’s
big chambers and small chambers littered throughout the chaos.
I’m pretty sure they don’t even stay the same layout between
visits; I only know how to get around them because they let me,”
I say. “There’s lots of creeks and ponds and rivers that run
through them, too. Plenty of aquatic life down here.”
Catherine’s flaming sword reveals that the inky darkness ahead
of us is in fact many, many small shadow creatures just like the
ones that nearly killed Catherine before -- overlapping each
other, constantly skittering in all directions and coating the
walls and floor and ceiling of the caverns ahead of us in a
       thick, oily black substance.
“Any ideas on how to get past a small army of chimera?” I ask,
holding a hand out to stop everyone before they walk through the
       door.
