Fifteen minutes go by, and that Sidhe is the only person I
manage to talk into an adventure. Apparently mages aren’t all
just gung-ho like the Fae, which strikes me as boring. I know, I
know. Most of them had their own problems to handle. Whatever.
The point is I needed them and they didn’t come through, you
know? Strangers or no. Cut a girl some slack!
So I meet up with our motley little crew at Catherine’s table,
take a seat next to the troll. I nod to the blonde lady, but I
hold off on introductions until everyone’s here.
It’s a corner booth. Can’t miss the giant blue frost giant,
really. I mean you probably can’t miss me, either, but that’s
not the sort of thought you share out loud in polite company.
People find it rude when you’re honest about yourself with them,
for some reason. Feh.
"Got two more on the way," I say to the other two. I nervously
fidget in my seat.

For my part, as we're waiting, I tuck into my food with a gusto
that completely belies the fact that I ate a reasonable,
balanced meal just a few hours ago. I do nod to the redhead
politely but forgo any conversation until the entire party is
here. As that term occurs to me, I stop mid-bite for a beat and
with a smirk, continue.
Who'd'a thunk I'd be getting my happy self into an adventuring
party like some character in a D&D game?

chewing on my burger and swallow, "I have managed to find one,
with the skills of a thief." There's no judgement in my voice.
In fact, the opposite. I believe a thief's skills might be
useful. "We may need those skills, but if not, they have, quote,
a few tricks." I say, actually smiling a bit. Otherwise, I sit,
eat, and wait for Lady Eve's recruits to arrive.

Aaaaand, the big blue lady goes right there. I do smile around a
bite of mashed potatoes. After I swallow, I pipe up. "I'm
she/her, thanks." I nod again to Eve. "Name's Lanie Steele" I
give the same nom de guerre I gave Katharine. It's one of many
go-tos I use.

Janessa had been quick to respond, and once she walked into the
café he was there to meet her. After that, he joined the others
at the table with the very tall troll. He didn't have an arom
around Janessa or anything, but his did stay close to her in a
way that indicated they were together.
"Hello, everyone," He greets softly, "I am Phoebus ap Leanhaun,
and this is my my girlfriend, Janessa Adair." He nodded to each
of them, though his eyes lingered slightly on the troll.

not always a good thing to have one of the noble's attention.
"My Lord." I say in greeting. "It is an honor to be in your
presence. I am Katherine Dragon's-Fury, Temple Knight of the
Tuatha, and until this quest is done, sworn servant to my Lady
Eve." He'll note I did not say Dame Katherine.

When Phoebus had called her and said there was someone who
needed help with something her interest had been piqued, and she
had agreed to meet him at the Café. It took her a bit to get
there, and when she saw him she smiled. "Hi, where is your new
friend?"
She followed him over tot he table her eyes going wide when she
say the incredibly tall troll woman. Her golden eyes lingered on
Catherine for a moment before she looked at the rest of the
people at the table a soft blush coloring her cheeks when she
saw Eve. Everyone at the table was freaking gorgeous.
"Hi." She gave a small smile and a wave.

I clear my throat as the last two arrive and motion for everyone
to take a seat. I’ve been trained to host for Garou, so I know
my way around a party -- demure. Mindful. You know.
“Welcome, everyone,” I say. “My name is Eve Solomon. Please
forgive me for cutting right to the chase, but time is of the
essence: as most of you have been told, my family is missing and
my home is under attack from some kind of shadow-creatures. They
appear to be some form of Chimera. Does everyone here know what
that means?”
I look around the table, and nobody seems to be questioning what
the word means, so I continue.
“I don’t know how they work, what they want, or why they’re
invading my home. The important things to me are that I get my
home back and that, at the very least, we find out where my
family has gone -- if not rescue them.”
“Before we go in, we’re going to need to come up with some kind
of plan. That plan is going to need to make use of every
advantage we have, which means we need to know what all’y’all
are good at,” I say. “So let’s get the introductions out of the
way.”
“As for me: I already said my name was Eve. I’m a witch. I’m
okay with a sword, but my real abilities lie in magic,
especially Chimerical magic.”
I motion for Catherine to go next, since she’s sitting next to
me.

with weapons, especially my sword Eldi Sverð," I pat the magical
sword sheathed at my hip. "as well as magic. I'm a sorcerer in
my own right and specialize in the Arts of Winter, Pyretics,
Primal, and Metamorphsis, and have a small amount of skill in
Calling the Dragon's Ire. Beyond that I can do what most of my
kind do." I say, kind of proudly. Trolls are known for our skill
at arms and ability to protect.

I've finished my meal finally. I have to resist the urge to lick
the plate the chocolate layer cake was on, though. That was
good. But while I don't really have any class, I do have a bit
of couth, so I womanfully resist the urge, despite a small
version of me in the corner of my mind pouting.
I repeat my moniker for the newcomers with a nod to each of
them. "Lanie Steele. I'm really good at getting out of tight
spots, both literal and metaphorical. I have a few other tricks
up my sleeve, including luck." I don't actually enumerate just
what my abilities are, but I blink knowingly at the talk of
chimera and chimerical things. It's not as if knowing specific
nomenclature is going to make too terribly much of a difference.
