Catherine and I split up. The plan is to meet together at the
table we were just at in, like, 15 minutes or so -- each of us
reaching out to as many people as we can to build up a raiding
party in order to take back the Manor and discover what happened
to my family.
“Okay, meet you back here in 15 minutes,” I’m just saying to the
giant troll as I walk away. Of course, I’m paying attention to
that and not where I’m going because multi-tasking is the nature
of the beast and I’m just bad at it when I’m trying to hide that
I’m in a panic.
So naturally, right as I turn around, I run face-first into
someone else who wasn’t looking at me, either. We both topple
over and I sprawl across the ground.
“Oof,” I say, sitting up.
I’m a red-haired, 19-year-old Little Red Riding Hood. My hood
and cloak are a mess right now, and I wasn’t expecting my
hand-crafted fae-mein to show up in the Cafe like it does, but
it does.

Almanzo often has his head in the clouds, though usually he
manages not to run into others. This was the first time in a
while. He gave a gentle laugh and stood, holding out a hand to
her to lift her up as well. "Sorry, Red," he said without really
registering the nick name.
In his fae mien he was gorgeous, short dark hair and a trim
beard, bright blue eyes and a charming smile. His fae mein was
breathtaking, wild blond hair, porcelain skin, but the same blue
eyes. He was clearly a sidhe, but didn't wear anything to give
away his house.
He was dressed in designer clothes though, and elegant voile.
"Are you ok?"

I’m so used to being called Red that I don’t even notice it,
either. I just go with the flow. Which is saying something,
because I’m freaking out right now.
“No problem,” I blurt out as I look him up and down -
unashamedly, I might add, checking him out - and almost
stammering for a moment.
Is that balenciaga he’s wearing? I mean, I have a whole closet
of the stuff, but it’s not something you see every day unless
you’re me.
“And no, I’m in a bit of a pickle,” I say, cutting right to the
chase. He’s clearly sidhe. Whether or not he’s my type has yet
to be seen--
--focus, Eve. Recruiting help, not trolling for a lay.
“You any good with magic? Swords? I could really use some help
right now.”
Why yes, yes I am asking complete strangers to help out. Who
ELSE am I going to ask around here? I’ve only been in the cafe
for ten minutes and it’s my first time here!

He is no stranger to the look over, but laughs at how boldly she
does it. He also takes the moment to give her a good look over
as well. No harm in looking. Giving him a better look, she'd see
that he is a famous musician, primarily Metal but with a
well-known name (Almanzo Fitzgerald) and also the incarnation of
Apollo himself.
"I am good with magic, not so much weapons. You must be
desperate to be asking strangers." He paused a moment. "My name
is Phoebus ap Leanhaun, Baron of Ashen Winds. Can you tell me a
little bit more about this trouble? I'd be happy to help,
probably."

He looks, and I show -- it’s about the pose, the crook of the
hip, the sparkle in the eye. I’m not, like, throwing myself at
his feet, but a thorough knowledge of what assets I have and how
to show them off has never been something I’m lacking…
But he’s right, I am desperate. Time to focus.

“Well met, Lord Leanhaun,” I give a small curtsy with what
little skirt I have available to curtsy with. “I am Eve
Solomon.”
I try to sound more officious, knowing I’m talking to nobility.
I’m not really fae, myself, but I know my way around the
Escheat.
“Currently, my entire family is missing, and my home is under
attack by some kind of shadow creatures. I barely escaped with
my friend back there,” I motion to the troll lumbering around
hunched over trying to fit into the Cafe, “and we need
reinforcements before we try to re-take the Manor again.”

As the living representation of the shining star above, Phoebus
was accustomed to drawing attention. Also as a musician. His
grin was plenty prideful, is the point.
He turns to business as she does, giving her a polite nod. Her
story earns a frown of thoughtfulness and concern. She indicates
the troll and he does a double look, she is very tall, even for
a troll woman. He considered for a moment, squinting skyward as
he considers.
"What is your plan?" He asks at last. "How many people have you
recruited thus far?"

“Well, a frontal assault is probably not the best bet, at least
not with a sword. Catherine back there got her ass handed to
her. I think if we use some kind of light magic? Maybe fire? I
just got here, looking for help -- you’re the first person I’ve
asked. I’m hoping to round up a few more before we head back to
the Manor.”

So, plan was basic. Probably not really a plan, but with some
room for a better plan after finding a group of people to go.
This was acceptable. He nodded and rubbed his chin.
He glanced at Catherine again, easily and without ego assessing
her to be far better combatant than he was. He nodded again.
"We'll make a better plan when we know what the capabilities of
the, um, party are going to be." He turned his gaze back on Eve.
Yes, this means you can count me in. I also no a girl that may
be able to help, depending on where this is located?" An arch of
his brow.

“My thoughts exactly,” Eve says with a smile. “Awesome. The
Manor is in Nevada, outside of Las Vegas. Who’s your friend?”
The more the merrier. Right? And if I’ve learned one thing about
the world, it’s that beautiful people run in packs. If this
friend is anywhere near as easy on the eyes as he is? I might
need to reject her participation out of fear of distraction.
“We’re meeting up by the table Cathrine is sitting at,” I motion
to the troll again, “in about fifteen minutes. I’m going to
round up anyone else I can get my hands on by then. Sound like a
plan to you?”

"Fifteen minutes, by the troll. Excellent." He agreed "My
friend, er, girlfriend, is named Janessa, she has magic, but not
very combat inclined." He shared easily, but not too much.
"Well, with that settled, I'll contact my friend and get her
here, and meet up by the troll Catherine's table." Having that
much of the plan down, he fished for his phone and said to Eve,
"Good luck." He gave her a salute, then wandered off to find a
quiet spot to call his girl and see if she wants an adventure.
