The Video Game Tournament Thread!

So I figure that, if we can get enough people actually using
these forums, this would be a nice place to have people request
what tournaments they want at the con. Here's a current WIP list
of the games we'll almost certainly have:
- In The Groove / Dance Dance Revolution
- Rock Band 3
- Modern Warfare 3
- Halo: Reach
- Super Smash Bros. Brawl
- Super Smash Bros. Melee
- Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3
- Whatever the newest rendition of Street Fighter IV is =P
What else would you guys like to compete in? Let us know here!

So it's not far from con time now, here's some updates courtesy
of the best darn TO ever, Milln:
"Games starting at the same time is not a typo. There are no
tournaments scheduled for Sunday. Times when there is not a
tournament scheduled will be Free Play, of course. Just ask an
attendant if you don't see a game you want to play.
Registration for ALL games will be thirty(30) minutes before the
appointed time to accommodate bracket creation.
Friday
2pm- Super Smash Bros. Brawl
3pm- Skullgirls
3pm- Soul Calibur 5
5pm- Super Smash Bros. Melee
Saturday
11am- Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition 2012
11am- King of Fighters XIII
Noon- Project M
4pm- BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend
4pm- Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds"
As an addendum to that, 1 PM Saturday will mark the start of the
Dance Dance Revolution tournament, and 5 PM that day will see
the Rock Band tournament.
Also...
"All tournaments are free to enter.
PRIZES
Top 3 in each game will receive prizes in the form of Gift
Certificates, Manga, Anime, or other similarly themed items, all
in the spirit of the convention!"

You've got SSBB and DDR there. If I can suggest the Wii or XBox
version of Just Dance... :3 Those games are FUN.

Pokemon? Oh, certainly, although I have no idea how I would
organize that one...*imagines two people trying to have a
pokemon battle with two tournament officials breathing down
their necks* XD If I can get people interested in it, though,
certainly - although I doubt it'd be a tournament with prizes or
anything. Too many variables, and it'd be a "Bring Your Own
Game" style tournament most likely.
As for Just Dance, if we have a large enough clear area in the
room, I might look into that - keep in mind there will be a LOT
of area taken up by some of the attractions in there (there will
probably be a little area to buy gamer food/energy drinks, and
the potential for multiple DDR style setups is high), and I
don't want anyone to be slapped in the face with a Wiimote XD
But if we get enough support for the idea, I'd gladly run one.
=D
Oh, and I left BlazBlue off the list - consider that one a high
possibility too. ^.^ When I've got more info to share about how
the game room will be setup, I'll gladly let you all know - for
now, keep listing off games I've forgotten, I'd love to have as
many tournaments as possible so that everyone can participate!

Well since I know a lot of my friends love video games about
there favorite anime what about Naruto,Naruto Shippuden,bleach,
and other video games like that. I for one would love to face
others in a Naruto Shippuden ultimate ninja storm game for xbox.

Ok well this idea isn't a video game but it's still fun! Ok so I
was thinking maybe a big game of twister? ( the game where you
spin the arrow and you say left foot green or something like
that) but anyways the only problem I have for this game is that
some people might not like it because it does get into people's
personal bubbles when you play(´･_･`) but maybe if
we get people who would like to play I think it would be a fun
game to try. :D

The issue I see with that would be cosplayers. Elaborate
cosplays lead to akward Twister. Of course, theres always
Cosplay Chess, but thats a different event entirely.

Well, I've seen Cosplay Twister done at other conventions in the
past and it seemed like they were having a lot of fun. We'd
probably have to have about 10-12 boards though as you can only
fit a max of 4 people on one board, lol. ::)
Might be something to look into :)

Yay! Maybe 4- 5 mats maybe fewer depending on the size of the
room would be fine! :D twister is a fun game and even more fun
in cosplay! I really hope to see this at the convention :)

Also, if you could nail down whether or not personal
controllers/sticks will be allowed and what system these will be
played on, I can pretty much guarantee some more attendees for
the tournaments at least. Or even if we'll be able to provide
setups for some of the games, that'd be cool.
