       Local anime fans and gamers
By: Kevie Date: February 17, 2012, 9:51 pm

Hey! This section seemed kind of empty so I thought I'd be the
       first to say hi!
Figured I'd make a post where local people could post about
there favorite anime's or games and maybe meet others with
       similar interests.
       I can start :D
My names Kevin. I'm more of a gamer than an anime fan but I do
enjoy shows like SGT. Frog and was used to watch DBZ and Pokemon
back in the day. As for gaming, I'm more of a PC gamer (MMO's,
FPS) but Zelda is pretty cool too. Also a fan of Smash Bros!

By local I'm assuming you mean local to the con area, so I
       definitely fit the bill!
I'm Travis, and I too am more of a gamer than an anime fan -
although not by much, since I split my time between the two
roughly equally these days. =D I'm big into World of Warcraft,
but aside from that I don't really like MMOs - I'd rather play
adventure style games like Metroid, 2D Platformers like Rayman,
or music/rhythm games like Dance Dance Revolution. As for Anime,
I'm mainly into the Shounen genre - DBZ, Yu Yu Hakusho, G
Gundam, etc. although I also like one-shot anime movies or short
series like anything by Hayao Miyazaki, Redline (seriously can't
hype this one enough lol), or small series like FLCL. I live in
North Knoxville, and on the rare occasions that I'm not at home
or work, I'm either hanging out on the UT Campus or I'm
       occasionally at Zuma Fun Center.

Yeah by local I meant the Knoxville, Sevierville, Gatlinburg
       area.
I've been playing WoW for quite a while but am really looking
forward to Guild Wars 2 for the world pvp. One thing that turns
me off of WoW is high end raiding with guilds having the time
       committment.
I'm a fellow DDR fan! I'm not the best, but it's fun and there's
a lot of machines around the area! Haven't come across an ITG
       machine yet though.

       Fweeee~ -sneaks in-
Anyways! I'm Tani, I technically live in Servierville, but I'm
usually at school in Jefferson City.
When it comes to anime and games I'm a kinda a mix on what lean
towards. Though I will say I've played more MMOs than..watched
anime and console games. When it comes to MMOs I am addicted to
Maplestory, have been since 2004. I quit for several years but
I'm back with the recent updates..o.o I've played others and I
will admit, I wasn't a big fan of WoW. I'm also quite cheap in
       regards to MMOs
With console games, I adored Tales of Vesperia, Infinite
       Undiscovery, Fable, and Viva Pinata...>>
I also play Shadow Run - My Dryad Elf Mage who specializes in
       messing with your head. ;o
With anime, I have my specific fandoms because well, I just
kinda don't have as much time anymore as I did in HS.
I also love DDR as well! I'm not very good but I have my
favorite songs I like to play.

I'm Pam, and I'm in West Knoxville. Moved here last July and
found a brand-new anime meet-up group then, but, sadly, the
organizer had to step down and the group disbanded after only a
       few months.
My taste in anime is eclectic while veering towards
shonen/neo-shonen; it's really difficult to choose a short list
of favorites, but it would have to include Gunslinger Girls,
Full Metal Panic, GTO, GetBackers, AD Police/Bubblegum
Crisis/Parasite Dolls series, Black Cat, Cowboy Bebop, and Dirty
Pair. One wall of my family room is devoted to anime shelving,
and I seem to have a lot of manga I haven't read yet. Right now
I am watching Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan on Hulu.
My ID is "Simmerfan," which makes my favorite PC game style kind
of obvious. I mostly play god games, world building games, and
occasionally old-fashioned shooters, just cuz I like to shoot
stuff. Haven't played RPGs since the 70's, except that last
year I did enjoy playing All Flesh Must Be Eaten with a group
who needed another player, so I obliged for a couple of months.
I am very happy to see a new con established closer to Knoxville
than MTAC. East Tennessee has been needing this!

We're glad to have the opportunity to have a great show in East
TN. We're are never in any way trying to be better than MTAC or
the like but just have a fun time for all. :)
