Soul saw the nurse leave the room out of the corner of her
eye. The food she had left smelled nice, but she couldn't bring
herself to eat any. The girl had startled herself with the sound
of her own voice. She had grown so used to silence that any
sound startled her.
Now, her gaze hovered around the corner. In her blind,
cloudy eye, she saw his hazy form in the corner. She had the
vague memory of his face, and him carrying her to safety on a
snowy night. But that was all she remembered before she woke up
in this room. Her jaw was clutched tightly. The Nurse told her
that she would never have visitors, but he was always here.
Had he heard her speak? Maybe he would answer the question
she asked the nurse. She shifted her weight slightly, adjusting
the limb of hers that was half missing- her left leg. Little did
she know, it had been torn up and shredded after it was caught
under the seat of the car when the accident happened.
She never remembered having another leg, though, so she
didn't think about it much. Just as she didn't think about the
accident much. There was nothing there to think about.
Her eyes hadn't moved from the corner, just as they rarely
did. The girl was comforted just knowing that he was there. Her
guardian angel, as she thought of him.

And Belial never moved, either. He leaned against the
conjoining walls of the corner, his folded wings pressed into
the open space that his body created when he leaned against the
wall. It wasn't the most comfortable position for the angel, but
it was better than nothing.
Had all of that been real? The recent few weeks had been a
disaster. When he was first born into existence, he was assigned
a counterpart from the living; the young girl who watched him
from the bed, Soul Arceais. Ever since he could remember, he,
Belial Asmodeus, had been Soul's guardian angel. Up until a few
weeks ago, he'd been living with the other angels. That was,
until the night of the accident.
Azzie was only doing his job, even if it meant interfering with
the physical world. He dragged her out from under the flaming
wreckage of the accident, pulling her into his protective arms.
And he flew her away from the mess for as far as he could go,
setting her down in a safe coven not too far away. But now, he
was being punished for protecting her. He was cast out of
heaven, and now, here he was. Silently watching.

Soul felt, although no truly, alone. Her eyes watched the
corner as they always did, some semblance of understanding in
them. A though she knew not why she was here, the girl had the
thought of pain.
She remembered the sound of her own voice from a few
minutes ago, suddenly craving to hear it again- something new,
different from the room that she had rarely left in the past few
weeks.
"You can hear me, can't you? I'm not crazy." She said,
half expecting not to hear a response from the mass she saw in
the corner. Her voice was hoarse and soft, presumably dye to the
fact that she hadn't used it at all. She wasn't crazy, was she?
Surely not. He had to be real- she had no other explanation for
it. What elsecould have picked her up and drug her from the
fire, then proceeded to fly away? No. He just had to be real.

Can I just jump in? I'm on mobile right now(I'll fill in the
form when I get on my computer). The nurse's name is Reia.

Belial raised his head slightly as Soul spoke. Could
the mortal girl see him? Probably, because she was looking
somewhat directly at him. Shifting slightly and using his elbows
to prop him slightly from the wall, the fallen angel came to a
decision. He'd speak. He'd already been exiled, so it didn't
matter anymore.
"Yes, I can hear you just fine," he
replied, moving his arms to fold them. In all honesty, he was
pretty bored. He would leave, but he didn't have any place to
go. Besides that, he was pretty sure he'd be open to the attack
of demons if he left; with no weapons or protection from other
angels, the only choice was to stay with his companion.
(Sure, I don't mind)

Sure, Ally))
Soul felt a wave of relief wash over her when she heard
the voice. So he could speak. Her hazy eye was able to pick
up slight movement in the corner. And I'm not crazy. Unless
I was imagining his voice.
All this time, the nurses and doctors had said she had
brain damage, told her that she'd never live a normal life.
And she had refused to respond. And she decided then and
there that she would continue to do so.
She gingerly lifted a hand and touched her hazy grey eye,
wanting to rub at it. She felt the stinging burn of the stitches
there, and immediately dropped it again. I must look
wretched... I wish I could see my face. Another thing she
was upset about- she hadn't gotten the chance to look in the
mirror.
Soul stopped thinking about herself, remembering that
there was another person here. "Tell me... why have you stand
here for so long, watching? Surely you must be bored, or hungry,
or something." She said, her eyes directed to the corner.
To anyone else who might enter the room, it would appear
that she was talking to herself- Angels, unless in Physical
form, were invisible to humans and unable to interact with any
objects.

"Soul," there came a gentle rapping on the door, and a voice
spoke from outside of the room. "Soul, open the door. I have
something for you."
