i might aswell do this in 1 big thread or it will take up loads
       of room.
please note that these are my recommendations, what i maybe
happy with, you may not be.
       Rat food
for my mixes i use rupert rat (15kg), A fruity rabbit mix
(32kg), A nutty hamster mix (15kg) and have recently started
adding some rat nuggets (4.5kg). my boys love this mix and i
know others who use it aswell. i dont add anything else to the
mix as it has added dried fruit, nuts, seeds etc. This ammount
of food will last my 31 boys 2 months and costs about £75.
Rupert rat (15kg) i get from
  HTML http://www.petfeedsuk.co.uk/Mr_Johnsons_Rupert_Rat_Mix_15kg_p/a-mrj006.htm<br
/>i used to get it from another site but they put the price up b
       y
£6, meaning this is the cheapest i have found, the delivery is
good aswell, i ordered on a friday and it came by the wednesday.
Fruity rabbit mix (32kg) i get from
  HTML http://www.food4wildbirds.co.uk/Fruity%20Rabbit%20Food%20-%20pellet%20free-c-87.html<br
/>my boys love this mix as it has dried banana and pineapple. th
       is
mix would not actually be suitable for rabbits as it dosent
contain enough fibre, if you added your own pellets then it
would be ok, but like this, without the pellets, its perfect for
rats. All the products on this site are freshly mixed before
dispatch. The delivery is free and if ordered before a certain
time it is delivered the next day. if ordered after the time the
deleivery (when ordered on a friday) will arrive by about
       wednesday.
Nutty hamster mix (15kg) i get from
  HTML http://www.food4wildbirds.co.uk/deluxe-fruit-nut-hamster-mix-p-1576.html<br
/>this is from the same site as above. they dont sell rat food a
       s
it didnt sell too well. i expect if they knew quite a few rat
people buy there products they might bring it back, but these
products are loved by quite a few rats.
Rat nuggets (4.5kg) are something new i have started adding to
the mix, i get them from
  HTML http://www.petfeedsuk.co.uk/Burgess_Supa_Rat_Royale_1_5kg_p/a-bur255.htm<br
/>some of the rats love them, while others are not so keen. i do
       nt
buy alot of these, but enough to add through the mix. these came
packaged with the rupert rat mix, so delivery was good.
       Rat Bedding
When you ask rat people what bedding they use they say all
different kinds, some use shredded paper (great if you have 1
cage), others use shredded cardboard (great as comes in bales
and can be used for numerous cages), others use pulped wood
(very light bedding in big bales, is dust extracted so safe to
use), other use wood shavings (this is not a good bedding for
rats as it is very dusty, some say they are fine on it, but imo
       i would never use it)
i personally use Finacard. it is a dust extracted shredded
cardboard bedding. it comes in huge bales which last me about 5
weeks with 7 cages to clean out. if ordered from the finacard
website it has free delivery, and can also be ordered with paper
pellets or shreeded paper for litter tray or rat houses. i get
mine directly from the supplier which is
  HTML http://www.finacard-uk.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=45&zenid=udjputth0o2d3vf9j045ehrmg5<br
       />
       Rat Cages
Again different rat people may prefer other cages by my
favourite is the Furet Tower. It is a huge cage which can fit up
to 18 rats. it can be divided into 2 cages or stay as a huge
cage. the access is brilliant and is easily cleaned out. It is
extremely easy to put together and take apart and can also be
flat packed. i got my 2 second hand, so try ebay, but if you
want it new just check online for the best offers as cages can
       be very expensive.
       Breeders
these are 100% my recommendations for rat breeders. i have had
babies from 2 of these breeders, but wouldnt hesitate to get
from the other 2 aswell. i have boys from another breeder but i
would not get a cold of her (long story). the 4 ratteries i
recommend are Brammocks Rattery in Raunds Northhamptonshire
  HTML http://www.brammocksrattery.co.uk/
(and that picture is of my
boys :) i also have 4 babies from this rattery), Ansbrook
       Rattery
  HTML http://ansbrook.co.uk/ansbrook/index.htm
       (i had 2 rats
from this rattery, 1 still with us ), Twilight Rattery in
       Basingstoke
  HTML http://www.twilightrattery.co.uk/
       and Firesev
       Rattery
